Can anyone recommend a local italian market in the Park Slope / Prospect Heights area where I can find fresh pasta, ravioli, mozzarella, prosciutto, etc.? I'd even make the trip to Little Italy as long as it's yummy!

Thanks!

I wonder how difficult it is to make your own pasta? I'd totally be down for that if it wasn't that hard to do.

it is easy. mrs whynot has an attachment she puts on the mixer, it has settings to determine the width, thickness, etc

if you are willing to take the time/have the patience. You could hand roll it and cut it out yourself.

Have you check M&S butcher? I know they make their own mozzarella, I'm sure they have the other items you are looking for too.

I figure the Italians have been doing a good job making pasta for hundreds of years. I've only been alive for 30. I'll peep M&S though! Thanks.

Or maybe I'll put the ski mask on and go knock off Al Di La.

Just curious, how tall are smurfs?

Back on topic: Yea, you can make the dough then roll it and slice it, but it takes a while.

Patsa has been around for thousands of years, so its pretty simple to do.

I would hit Court Street between Carroll & 4th Pl. for the pasta. There are a few places that sell handmade noodles. Little Italy, except for Ferrara's isn't even Italian anymore. Go to Caputo's on Court by 4th Pl. for mootzarell. Their fresh and smoked is pretty damn good.

Obviously not watching the smurfs with you.

    ...you are grumpy today.

Type about pasta; it will get you mind off needing that man.

Thanks. After a little investigating its seems all the Italians moved up to the Bronx from Little Italy. Hence the failure down there now.

Next time I'm going to try to make my own. Just didn't have enough time to prepare this round.
