Ellis, Quarter

South Slope for the former (5th ave bet 17th and 18th), Greenwood Heights for the latter (5th and 20th) I guess

Went to both last night and had amazing cocktails - at Ellis, had Burnt Lemon Vanilla tequila martini ($11) and jalapeno pineapple tequila cocktail ($!11), and at Quarter had Two Bits (9)- a manhattan type bourbon drink with two kinds of bitters. Mmmmm! None were inexpensive, but for a special treat, those cocktails were delicious!

Ellis was nearly empty and one of the owners said it has been like that for months now. If you live in the nabe and haven't been in (like me before last night), go! In this economy, we need booze.

okay, so back to the topic...

scarlett, do you recall if they (Ellis) had a long cocktail menu? i'm just askin' cuz when i go with friends and/or hubby we all have different tastes in drinks. while that Burnt Lemon Vanilla tequila martini sounds phenomenal to me, I'm hoping you'll tell me that there are a decent selection of drinks there.

oh, and didja have any snacks there, or just the booze?

Shish, the cocktail menu had like eight or ten specialty drinks. They all sounded delicious and while we only tried the two, I can tell you they were a little tequila-centric. Some gin too. She likes to mix tequilas and flavored vodkas and recommended we try an exspresso flavored vodka that was sooooooooooo good and smelled EXACTLY like exspresso beans. So while the list isn't long, I bet if Ali is working she would make you something to your liking.

We only drank our dinner, but we did peak at the menu (one page was all beers and wines, decent list!) and saw yummy snacks on it.
