I went out to my car this morning and noticed my Bumper Badger had been cut off at the straps! Why would someone take it off? Is there some black market for these things?

i don't know if there's a market for the bumper badger itself, but i'm starting to think that there might be a market in bumper badger alarm systems....

i bet its just some guy getting rid of them because they make your car look so bad.

did someone then scratch your bumper?

The 15 y/o in me has always wanted to hold a bumper badger up with one hand, while keying their bumper the other.

I'm a big fan of beat up '92 Corollas.

They are kind of the automotive equivalent of plastic couch covers...

Carny, I was thinking they were the automotive equivalent of fanny packs.

    Or pocket protectors.

I was thinking the exact same thing! LOL

I personally think the minor scratches and scrapes on my bumper look 100 times better than those rubber curtains!

is there a special occasion for which they will take them off?

...or, are they always on, like at my grandmother's house? For a longtime, we thought she put them on when us grubby grandkids would come over, then we learned she sat on plastic year round.

Why don't people put them on the front?

There ya go ring! A new marketing idea for u-go out and put a patent on one for the front too-we can split the profits-LOL!

its also doofus that they do not protect the part most likely to be scratched: the corners of the car.

See if you can sell people really large ones ...you'll make more money.

...and I'll then let out the 15 y/o in me, flip it up and then key their bumper. Everyone wins!

The real question here is: Why don't we just drive around IN bumper cars... with that wacky padded steering wheel, hangman's dream seatbeats, and some young Latinos hanging around every corner to pull us out if we get jammed up.

I'll take that over a Corolla and a toll booth any day.

This board has more little piece of shit than a stroll down 3rd street on dog walking day....

Welcome to the neighborhood young and modern. And remember, nobody owes you any favors. And watch your back. And lock the door when you masturbate - so many lessons young one, so many lessons.

My wife made us get one of these things.....on a bumper that's already all f'd up. I personally hate it. The only reedeeming value it has is when I drive off with it still there, I like to pretend it's a little superhero cape for my car.

Bumper Badger theft is just another indication of a declining economy. If you can afford buying one one, you can afford buying another one. Just like with those blue halogen head-lights, remember?

Katbka... You assume that logic defines consumer activities yet your reliance on logic ultimately destroys your argument.

"If you can afford to buy one, you can afford to buy another". Not true. If I am an illogical consumer I may spend my last dollar on something stupid like a bumper bra. Or, perhaps, in an effort to keep up with Jones' I trick out my ride with dope rims while my 3 kids are at their babies mama's eating Ritz crackers.

Or, maybe I buy a house with money I simply don't have. Consumer aren't logical, bummer bras are stupid, and a declining economy is an excuse (or rationalization) to steal rather than a cause of theft.

You do have a cool avatar though.. I mean, she has a shirt on, but whatever, it's cool.

Back in the 80's, someone broke into our Dodge Omni (sort of like a VW Rabbit, but poorly built) and stole two kiddie car seats.

Who says the neighborhood has gentrified?

A bumper badger is not a bra. A bra is an equally ridiculous, but distinct automotive accessory:
