I am going to assume that the LPC hearing went well on 7/7/2015, and they are now pursuing approvals from Department of Buildings.

Contractors then attack. They will need to get a liquor lic and a DOH kitchen inspection along the way.

So, for the heck of it, I am going to estimate that this place opens in Nov 2016.

Are you taking into consideration that this is not being done by newbies?  It is my understanding that they've done this before and have ample funds.

I am assuming they won't open before they get a full liquor lic, which I am estimating will take 6 months.

If they file for a full liquor lic by Dec 2015, they could get it by June 2016 and open.

For their sake, I hope they use some of their ample funds to make the application process -um- "smooth and timely".

Other predictions are welcome.

Thanks for the update capt. planet! I've been wondering what the hold-up was. Other than scaffolding and some debris removal, it doesn't seem -- from the outside at least -- that much work's been done over the last year.

Maybe I missed it in a thread above - but who is the owner, and what other clubs/venues/bars do they own/operate? Thanks! 

The owner is believed to be Daniel Branover.

There may be additional investors in the above places, but I believe he is the lead.

He also may own places in addition to those listed....

I did a little additional digging.

I could not not find any place beside Basil where he is the principal on an alc lic.

There seem to be two other principals at Basil: CLARA PEREZ and MENACHEM
SCHNEERSON.
