I have Sharlene's cell number, so I'll warn her as soon as the date is set. But it looks the 14th so far.

^maybe you should call/warn her now so that plans can be adjusted (change of date or location) if necessary.

Glad I am welcomed. What kind of traditional Festivus features can I expect? I'm guess some drinking will be added to the mix, which would make the Airing of Grievances much better.

I actually came to the Franklin Park gettogether but couldn't figure out where you were, and was a little too shy to ask.

A monday Festivus event is really for the hardcore party crowd....but I'll do my best (bestivus?...sorry) to attend. I'm having a hard time suppressing jokes about Whynot's pole being slightly off-center...but I appreciate his efforts nonetheless.

It is in keeping with the spirit of Festivus that the pole be off center.
In my defense, the "inner pole" that holds the silver festivus pole is centered, but it is much thinner than the festivus pole.

As with any pole, ahem, it "was designed for play". (cue Scarlett)

Among other things, this design allows for easy removal and insertion. The sign at the top is designed with the same principal: People (like Carnivore) who prefer an unadorned pole, can remove it and insert over and over until their needs are met.

P.S. Yes, as a result of the Monday date, I think certain characters will be less drunken than past years. ...yet another factor to lessen the potential fear in newbies.

I think I can successfully coerce Mrs. Why into carrying the sign, so I don't need actual labor ...but carolers (sp?) are always welcome.
