you gotta admit, it has potential.
....even if we don't put the kid in a straight jacket.
i'm all for the Dyson Ball-Baby, but while it improves maneuverability, it doesn't really address the double problem under discussion here (unless the second child is stowed IN the ball, which is a thought).

with your Silence Stroller, though, we could consider a tiered system of children stacked vertically, which would make the double stroller neither longer nor wider than the single. potential downsides: doorway clearance; pedestrians puked on from above.

The 50 lb'ers are a vicious gang out of Prospect Heights,

Just last week,on the way to the post office to mail his admission forms to Harvard, 13 year old Satchmo Allen was severely beaten with a 50 lb laundry bag while sitting in his stroller, as his mother stood by with another stroller mom discussing Amy Sohn's Prospect Park West.
The unconscious Satchmo was rushed to the Methodist and his life saved.
Thats the good news, unfortunately the beating lowered his IQ from 235 to 100, which will disqualify him from his and his mothers life long dream to graduate from Harvard and work at Barnes & Noble.

The police brought out their bomb sniffing dog who located a trail of hash marked shorts, which are being tested for DNA .

I hope they bring lunatic to justice and allow all the mom's to reclaim the streets they own.

    What a boring topic.
    Truly unbelievable.
Get worked up about Health Reform, not strollers for crying out loud.

For example, the MTA could keep their trains much cleaner, and run them on time. ...arguably they might be able to do that with passengers, but that's a different topic.

New2hood, those are some good thread topics as well!
    ...all beat health care reform.

Yay Flexichick! I am so glad you said something. More people need to say things when someone is misbehaving, IMHO. I've taken to letting people know at the gym that they are not supposed to be talking on their cell phones in the locker rooms. There's a sign.

I can't believe this thread is still running on. really people? Can't you just do a search on the billion stroller threads in the past get you fill that way?

BTW the OP "floorwalker" has children, and I'm positive he's never used a stroller for them in his life.

Seriously, what a bunch of whiners. I'm glad you people just sit home and complain on the internet. I'd probably punch you in the face if you confronted me about any of my countless daily infractions: smoking, biking on sidewalk, double walking, texting while walking... i smell, i walk too fast, too slow...

It's cool - I'll go on living my life, and you can go on complaining on the internet.

I think many of you missed the point of the original post.... Strollers are not the problem- the parents who take up the whole sidewalk and don't care about others are the issue.
Remember--- please, love your children and let them know they are special to you.. AND raise them to understand that the rest of the world DOES NOT love them and feel that they are special!!!

I'm with WhyNot in spirit, but I don't see how Dyson technology helps those of us like the OP who resent the presence of of strollers on their sidewalks. Sure, it's great for mothers, but what about everyone else? I hereby present the following solution, which I believe will please everyone. I call it "The Double-Wide." Patent Pending.

photo is unavailable! I wait with baited breath. Is it a laser guided baby catapult, thus allowing the mother to shoot the baby to its destination? ...thus preserving the sidewalk for those who use birth control?

I like! ...my catapult was way too complex and going to require a parachute.

Can you sell a version for Dads that has two 300' cords (just below the flights headed for LaGuardia (sp?)?

maybe just one big balloon per child? ...like the infamous balloon boy?

...you could have helium deflation and re-inflation centers, to recycle the helium and get a charge (PS321, Two Boots Pizza, bye-bye baby, the Co-op, etc.)
