no i'm in slope, and i've found voodoo's map, and i don't know why i'm thinking it's wrong on 8th ave between 15/14th right across from the armory, but if it's right i'm going back to sleep.

most of them changed since our streets were recorded anyway, so even if you could it'd be wrong

actually, ours are not that old. i can tell by the flower boxes our neighbors have in their windows. they moved in after the parking changed that summer

    Hah, that is awesome.

LMAO at the idea that folks will go on the internets and zoom down from satellite view to read the signs right outside.

(yeah, I know, it's a lot more complicated than that, but on a basic level it is pretty darn funny)

funny, yes. when it's 27 degrees, i've overslept, and may not have to go outside, necessary

but, it's 11:30, so if i'm wrong i'm ticketed at this point, it's a block away and i'm in PJS

And as long as you didn't get towed, it's a $45 ticket that you can easily get knocked down to $32, almost not worth going out twice in the cold for.

I'm impressed you remember which side of the street you parked on... I feel like it's always a surprise when I go to my car. (Even if it's only been a few hours)

    enter new invention!

Assuming it has not already been invented, I now trademark an Iphone app that remembers (via GPS) where the user parked their car.

GPS might not be that good yet, but soon it will be able to be exact enough to note the side of the street.

...or your exact spot in a suburban mall parking lot.

I'll be rich; assuming someone hasn't beat me to it

Damn, I guess this is what happens when you've had a monthly Mta pass instead of car since 2003. ....next time

The CB6 map agrees with the map Voodoo posted, but for some reason, I think the west side of the street if Friday and the East side is Tuesday, because my car is parked in front of the armory on 8th between 14th & 15th (note: it is not worth stealing) and I think I'm good until Friday.

    Subject: New Parking Reg Database

Try the new City Street Sign Parking database. Seems pretty accurate the times I've tried it. Hope this helps.

Subject: park slope alt side parking map

    Hi all,

A group of us have started a completely free parking service for the park slope area with hopes of expanding soon. We've been handing out really nice, laminated alt side parking maps of the area everyday. If you'd like one shoot us an email at [email hidden] and we'd be happy to email you a copy. Or you can follow us on twitter - @roadify - and find us on the streets where we'd be happy to hand you one in person.

Sorry you got a ticket, but here is what you do. Go to the NYC parking ticket website:

    http://nycserv.nyc.gov/NYCServWeb/NYCSERVMain

Scroll down to where it says "request hearing for", it will have a spot for you to input your summons number, then hit enter. As soon as you hit enter, it will give you an option to forfeit a hearing if you accept the settlement offered. For a $45 alternate side ticket, they always always drop it to $32. If you click yes that you will accept the settlement offer, it will then have you fill out a bunch of info and ok a statement saying that by accepting the settlement, you are forfeiting all rights to another hearing. About 24 hours after you do this, the ticket will then show at the new lower amount. It works all the time!

Chances are, your ticket is not in the system yet, I would give it a couple of days and then check.

    No problem!

By the way, this works for all sorts of parking tickets, I guess the city would rather give you a break on your summons then pay for people to actually read over hearing requests and such.
