    Well, if they got drinks to people faster, the owner might be able to squeeze more money out of that finite space. I love Soda, but there have definitely been times that I didn't drink as much as I would have simply because I was waiting so long between drinks. Now I know to order my next one before I finish my current one, but I think they could sell a lot more drinks simply by coming around more often. Incidentally, it was definitely better the last time we went.

    true on both counts - learning how to drink as much as I want at soda at the rate I want to drink took some time. :) I definitely think the service depends on the particular server and their level of interest both in what's going on at the bar and what's going on at their tables.

    Order two at a time :wink: keeps you from sitting there without a drink for too long and doubles as a not-so-subtle hint that the service is lacking.

    lol @ coming up with ways to get around the shitty service at a shitty bar.

    here's my advice: don't bother. Beast aint half bad, go there! Better yet, go to Pena's Bodega across the street and get beer to drink on your stoop.

    Ah! Stoop drinking! What a great thing! My one complaint - it seems like only the shitty beers turn over at my local bodegas.

    Well......if you like your beer on the fancy side there's always the Met.

    Key Food's, too. They don't have anything cold, but that's what buckets and ice are for!

    Met Food has cold beer. It's in the coolers on the far wall across from the warm beer.

    yeah, that's why I only put that disclaimer next to Key.

    a girl's gotta get by somehow. :wink:

    beast ... love the place. but I rarely find a spot at the bar and it's not super conducive to standing around since they're serving food - which is cool, it is a restaurant. but yeah, when I remember, I like to go at off peak times and park myself and drink bubbly. :)

    :cry::cry::cry: I have no stoop. :cry::cry::cry:

    We'll have to have some folks over when I can get some grass growin' (not the Jewish Hospital type) in the back yard... I've been looking forward to a little grillin' and chillin' since moving in...

    Here's a thought, what if we found someone with a good sized stoop, and had one of the weekly happy hours there, a BYOB mixer thingie. We could invite the owner of Soda and show him how to run something so people don't get pissed.

    Or a good sized rooftop

    hey, I've never been to Soda, and I can't wait to go there armed with all this knowledge of how to avoid lame service. I'll also be sure to wear a hat to the bathroom. :shock: deee-sgusting!
