angel eyes for white dogs with tearstains?

has anyone had any experience with "angel eyes" or other products made to reduce the reddish stain that sometimes accumulates under the eyes of white dogs (e.g. maltese, bichon)? my mom is looking at a GORGEOUS and PERFECT havanese pup that has traces of these tear stains. wondering if anyone has any experience with products made to reduce the staining, which to my understanding comes from the presence of iron/magnesium in the dog's tears. ? danke.

My mom used the Angel Eyes on her Maltese mix and it really did seem to work.

And, er, I think I speak for the rest of the pets board in saying... pics, please! love havanese~

(you can't see the stains....they are barely visible. my mom wouldn't use angel eyes unless they got much more prominent.)

    also, AWWWWWWWWW

OMG, i know. doesn't he look like a little panda bear? i love him. we visited yesterday and he's the most snuggly, affectionate guy. LUUUURVE him.

the minute traces of tear stains are totally not holding her back. i was just doing some pre-research about angel eyes in case they become an issue in the future.

i KNOW, it's ridiculous how cute he is! i'm currently riding the unemployed trolley, and i foresee a lot of extended stays at my parents' house....suddenly the 3.5 hour journey seems a lot less onerous!

^ that dog and your dog need to sit in my garden all day and look silly, while I sit on the lounge chair and yell "squeeeee" at them every few minutes

    i can arrange that...for a fee.

(NB, whoever makes smileys really needs to add a smiley modeled on fagen from oliver twist, rubbing its fingers together in the universal signal for 'cash' or something ... but smarmy lol-face up there will have to do for now)

^eh, I'm out, then. Am riding the unemployed trolley too. Thankfully two giant doggies showed up today and ate hamburgers in my yard. They let me "squeeeee" at them all day.

ps, any thoughts on names? my vote is "grady" but that has to do with a preschool teacher and is up for negotiation (with my mom and the brooklynian community at large, i s'pose.)

it should be something w 2 syllables that can be called drawn out when calling the dog to return.

pps, don't you bet whynot sounds absurd when calling for dude? i have not personally witnessed it, but i imagine something like this: "doooo-oode! dude! dude! dooooooooo-oooooooodeh!!!"

Bruno has some tear staining- I haven't tried any products to combat it, but I do find keeping the hair around his eyes trimmed really short (including his eyelashes) seems to help. They're not as bad as some dogs that I've seen so unless they become really terrible I'm just going to leave him alone...

    When is George coming home?

    Within seven days!!

Is everyone inviting themselves to my parents' place in lovely central Connecticut? I can show you some half-empty malls, out-of-business car dealerships and an IHOP that's been redecorated and renamed "YumYum Asian and Thai buffet."

More than likely the townies who hang out stoned in the empty car dealership lots will sit around and look silly while you yell squeee! at them.

^ Can I bring my laundry and will your mom's house be loaded up with wine and good food? Will the stoners share their pot so we can really laugh while we "squeeeeee" at them?

I'm so glad she's getting George!

No, but when he comes to Brooklyn to visit, as he surely will, I will invite all participants in this thread to meet him!

And his name shall be Mr. Peabody.
