Holy crap, that's intense. I can't believe the concrete buckled! There are so many trees down here in Carroll Gardens. Brooklyn's landscape was devastated today.

We were lucky in PLG. No damage on my block (Midwood St., bet. Bedford & Rogers. The storm damage seems to have been on the northern side of the terminal moraine, just past our neighborhood.

i was bicycling up vanderbilt @ approx. st mark's when it hit. had to take shelter at schoolyard at sterling as it was nearly impossible to see, all kinds of shit was flying around, intense winds. a whole new meaning to "cycling."

There's also a "Citizen Pruner" course that just started at Borough Hall. Not sure about the details or whether one can join at this point but I daresay this storm will be top of their agenda at the next class.
I'm not sure that I have a lot of time to give to a project like this, but I could certainly make a monetary donation. We lost at least three trees on Plaza Street alone, and maybe one more on Butler Place. I love the trees, and I want to see them restored!
