Hi Anna and everyone else!!

Met with my regular Cardiologist today to discuss the results of the Holter I wore. The results were not good. My heart beat is ranging from too low to just barely acceptable. I am going to have to have a Pacemaker inserted in my Chest. Looks like the other Doctors will have to wait until this is done. I see a Gastroenterologist Friday after seeing the Heart surgeon Thursday. Then in the coming weeks I have appointments with My Urologist, Endocrinologist, and Primary Doctor. What a mess! The Pacemaker will be inserted in the Hospital with an overnight stay. The cardiologist is concerned that I will start passing out if I do not have the Pacemaker. I do not need that. I will keep you posted on the progress! 8-[

Hi-went to see my son on Saturday-and have been in bed with the flu since Sunday..started out as a sore throat, then fever, chills, headache, earache (have I missed anyting?)...was going to go to work today but got up in the middle of the night vomiting..so much for me getting the flu shot in November..LOL..anyway, Warren will say prayers for u..angels all around..hi to Deb, Judy & Patsy too...talk to u soon......bye

Warren my mother in law just had a pacemaker put in also. It was done as an emergency, she's been having heart issues since she had so much chemo over the years. Good luck and keep us posted.

Wow seems like everyone is sick in one way or another....starting to feel better, don't think it was the flu, just a horrible cough (which I still have) but not as bad.

Hello All, This is my second attempt at posting. First message stopped halfway and would not budge!

Patsy, I know how you & your husband feel. In 1970 I was a Letter carrier for the US Post office when we went on strike. It was illegal for Federal employees to strike but the pay had fallen so far behind the economy that we had Carriers & Clerks qualifying for welfare!I was President of our local branch of the National Association of Letter Carriers and President of the Bergen County NJ District Association of Letter Carriers. I was not a proponent of the strike but I have to admit the end result meant a great deal to our families. Fortuneatly the strike did not last long and we only lost a few days pay and none of our benefits. Because of my positions in the union, I was a prime target of more aggresive members, members who did not want to strike and of course the Postal Service itself. Even the Bergen Record got on my back. I hope that your husbands strike has a swift ending with the time off being worth it.

I got a call from the Cardiologist who will do my Pacemaker implant Friday afternoon. Thursday afternoon we had met with him and he was not sure at all if he wanted to do it without more evidence of the need. After a conversation with my regular Cardiologist he not only changed his mind but asked if I could be ready Monday! I said yes and the surgery will take place tomorrow in Brandon Regional Hospital. Yea, I am a bit nervous about it but if it will stop some of the symptoms I am having I really want the Pacemaker. Obviously you will not hear from me for a couple of days. I have to stay in the Hospital at least overnight. God bless you all! [-oB

Had a good weekend...babysat for my grandson Saturday night, what a treat to have him wake up in my house, he is so cute in the morning!!!! and then Sunday went to the city for dinner with my sister and cousins that I have not seen in about 25 years...had a great time!!!

Procedure went well (but much later in the day then planned) I am home now, in some pain and a little nauseous (sp). Not allowed to drive for 3 weeks, can not shower until Sunday etc:. Have a boatload of medical appointments coming up. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts & prayers. 8-[

Praying for the bus strike to end...

Hello All, Thanks again for the well wishes. I am recouping fairly well. A few minor setbacks but nothing serious. Some minor pain in the upper chest where they inserted the pacemaker. Have to be very careful about raising my left arm.I was able to wash, shave and dress myself this morning. Can not shower until Sunday!

Been fairly cold down here the last few days but not the temps you up north are getting. Lows here in the 40's with highs about 70.

Patsy, I hope the strike ends soon. I know the feeling. Anna, get well! Judy your grandson is a beaut! Deb, I am feeling a little bit better each day. Love to all! -Y
