WhyNot, is it perhaps time for an (un)official Brooklynian Road Trip?

As a community minded person, I like to spend my dollars locally.

I mean, NJ is a long way to go, and Bkchickie makes some good points about the quantity of cleavage available locally.

I would have to do research before I answered that question. Pragmaticguy, was it worth the trip?

    Did you take any pictures?

Did they refrain from talking about the books of Ayn Rand?

...the visit would be done in order to ascertain viability of a similar business model in Brooklyn.

    Jack Krohn said:

    Yes, do tell.

I disagree, BKChickie, these women are all hot!

Oh, don't misunderstand, those women are hella attractive. I thought, however, that Hooters was all about the bewbs, and while these women have nothing to be ashamed about in that department, I was somehow expecting more.

    bkchickie-

Surely you are aware that bewbs can be merely part of the appeal of a restaurant, or a woman.

One has to consider the overall environment to understand the appeal these women hold. For example:

    1. Other men who are proudly declaring their heterosexuality, causes a snowball effect: Merely attractive women are then described as gorgeous by men in order to avoid any possibility of being considered gay.

    2. Beer. As long as their has been beer, it has been credited and/or blamed for increasing attractiveness.

    3. Food.

The success of Hooters is in large part due to appealing to the fundamental desires and needs of is customers.

I have attached a chart to help explain this. Arguably, the bottom segments list those that are most important to Hooter's customers, and humanity in general.

Manville used to be a company town from Johns-Manville the asbestos producer. When they went bankrupt due to all the Mesothelioma cases there wasn't much left to keep the town going. That's the reason for Frank's. Manville is off Route 287 about 10 miles from the Outerbridge Crossing.

    PragmaticGuy-

I don't see any harm in me imagining that there is a utopia for men in NJ, that I can someday visit.

Please keep your depressing facts to yourself. Thank you.

I lived in NJ for 16 years and I never went there. So I don't know what's more depressing. Being so close and still not going or just thinking about going and not being able to.

Don't despair, Hooters keeps opening locations closer.

When you include all its area locations, Brooklyn is almost surrounded.

I've seen enough t & a in my life. My daughter is older than the gals who work there. I don't ogle babies.

You can say you went for the food and the beer

...but I suspect you'll be looked at as being as credible as those guys who say they read Playboy for the articles.

Which is why I don't need to go. And back in the day when Jean Shepard wrote for Playboy I DID read it for his articles.

There are two types of heterosexual men:

Those who admit looking at the pictures, and those who don't.

I didn't say I didn't look at the pics. I said I read it for Jean Shepherd's writing. Of course the last time I actually looked at or read a Playboy, Hustler, etc. was about 35 years ago.

The few times I've actually read articles in Playboy, I've been impressed with the quality of the writing, including the fiction. Hustler, well, that's another story, though portions of Charles Bukowski's "Women" were published in that magazine (maybe it was the 4th grade reading level?).

I hope to see some of the Druid's poetry in Hustler one day. That guy is a genius.

The new generation is not as fortunate, because of the Internet.

Websites seem to not appreciate the synergy between pictures of naked women and good writing, they just feature one or the other.

Karl's poetry is a lot like Hooters; It does not reach the field's potential, but brings a smile to many.

I love it. Food and sex mixed together.

If you do not like it, do not go.

As an aside, did any of you know that Hooters is one of the most profitable companies in that industry? Think it is because of the woman? No, it is mostly the food.

Remember, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Just cut straight up and to the right a bit.

I would think that Hooters would have to serve some quality grub in addition to having some quality scenery. If the food were bad, I would imagine that it would be more enjoyable to grab some decent wings elsewhere, take them home, and look at pictures online at home. Though, I cannot say any of this from experience.

    from the nyp link:

“Imagine Hooters but upscale and with alcohol,” he said, explaining his police experience and clout would keep the joint classy. ... The plan calls for no nudity, and all staffers — servers, bartenders and dancers — will be required to wear bikinis.

a classy joint all right. who said the arena wouldn't improve the neighborhood?
