Looks like there are a couple store fronts under renovation on that block on that side of the street.  Any info on the other places?

Nostrand between Empire and Eastern has an active merchants association, but I don't think we have any posters that are part of it.

So, my intel is not the best.

However, I have heard rumors of coffeeshop operators regularly flirting with landlords in the area.

So far, I am not aware of any consummations.

Some people don't like it when others watch, and do it in private.

Looks like 827 Nostrand is going to be a restaurant.   I see permits for kitchen ventalation.   It's not a huge place but certainly big enough for a little french bistro.

Someone who knows the owner told me last week it was going to be some kind of soul food or Caribbean

I stopped in yesterday.  Owner is very friendly and justifiably proud of the interior renovation.  He said food will be "fusion" with some Italian dishes and some Soul Food.

Anyone know that latest on this place?  I ran into the owner a few months ago and he said hadn't decided to open a restaurant there himself or accept one of a couple offers from others seeking to open their own restaurant.  I'm confused.

I used to see small groups of people drinking at random times in the restaurant. However, for the past few weeks it has been locked up tight.

This place sold late last year and now the first floor (restaurant) is being gutted and a "medical office" is being put in.

Has anyone ever met the owner? I recall his name was David (he claimed to own two places across the street as well). Met him after G. Lee's closed down, when the renovation was in process, replete with granite counter top, sconces, and chandelier. Then, there was a soft opening for a restaurant, and then...nothing. The amount of investment for that reno must have been sizable.

The restaurant was actually kind of lovely. The medial office will be ugly.
