    that's why it is hard to take some of these posts seriously, even though I know the authors want me to. Race is always the issue for some, even to the point where they are making absurd judgements about other posters based on race on a damn anonymous message board!     Sure race comes into play on many levels where gentrification is concerned, but many other things deserve discussion too. Economics is an obvious area for discussion, but even there I think too much time is spent pointing blame. Gentrification is here to stay. Instead of meeting the new residents and talking about ways to preserve the local feel of the nabe, some choose instead to try to ridicule others perspectives based on race and/or economics. Not constructive at all.
