MoiM, Modern Korean Restaurant to open on June7th , Thursday

Finally.....after a long construction..the wait is over...
Looking forward to having a Korean meal right at the heart of park Slope without traveling to Flushing or K town........
The place has been buzzing last few weeks ...
Was told that the liquor license will follow shortly...but for now BYOB..which is much better for us for now anyway.........
Place look real updated with korean sensibility...tastefully completed..
Outdoor space looked great as well.............

    You only need to travel to Pacific and Vanderbilt in Propsect Heights to Noo Na. Good luck to this place.

    Where the hell is it? Do you have an address or am I suppose to sick my nose outside and smell my way there?

    You're supposed to have recognized it from Parkman's multiple other posts about the same opening.

    It's on Garfield Place, just east of 7th Avenue (next to Rancho Allegre, Ha Na Bi).

    I ate there last night - pretty nice. Short ribs were good, and my 8-year old (this is Park Slope) liked them too.

    If Parkman does own MoiM, it'd be helpful if she/he would shoot straight from the hip and throw up the menu, address, and hours instead of buzzing all over the blog.

    Now that I know exactly where the restaurant is, I hope to hit it within the next week. I pray it doesn't suck.

    Yes... That would settle me down with this thread. I have no problem is someone announces that they have a business and give information to entice us to try it.

    So if the moderators have objection lets see the menu and some pics!

    My friend knows the owner, and they would never do that. That being said, I ate there last night and I thought it was very good. Service, food, atmosphere. The garden which was not open yet, looks lovely.

    Parkman said he was at the pre-opening for friends and family, so I think he has a connection to the place, but is not necessarily the owner.

    tried to go tonight and it was closed. no sign on the door saying the reason why and it was dark inside.

    are they just closed on mondays?? was so excited to check it out.

    Funny, I had been thinking of trying it tonight too, until I realized it was a Monday. Most restaurants in the neighborhood are closed on Mondays. Fortunately, if you get a craving for Korean food on a Monday, Noona (on Vanderbilt and Pacific) is open.

    ok i went here last night with two friends and it is DELICIOUS. we tried a bunch of things on the menu...quail eggs, the cod main dish, scallion pancake, kimchi with tufu and pork, soy bean sprout salad and some others. all were EXCELLENT with a great diversity of flavors. the decor is really nice, what seemed to be the owner was very friendly and he seems to be taking great care in the design for the place...we even saw him mulling over a bonsai tree out on the not-quite-finished back garden (which looks like it's going to be lovely!).

    my two friends are korean food officianados and go to koreatown regularly and they LOVED the food and the ambience. it's byob so we brought a nice bottle of rose wine from a block up on 7th.

    my ONLY complaint...and it's not that big a deal, but our waitress seemed...how shall i say it.....new....

    other than that, it was a terrific dining experience. i highly recommend going to check it out. i think this place has the potential to be quite successful and perhaps even a destination korean place in new york. i prefer it over noona and i really like noona.

    The staff is friendly and the ambience is nice, but I'm bummed that there is pork in their kimchi. Their one tofu dish contains shrimp, so hungry vegetarians will have to stick to salad.

    Very excited to try Korean in PS.
    I usually go to Do Hwa on Carmine Street in the city, but would prefer to stay local.

    im almost afraid to write this since i've seen so many raves accused of being friends or family of the restaurant....lighten up! anyway....ate at Moim tonight - amazingly beautiful space - one of the most beautiful i've seen in new york - the food was top notch - there were four of us so we tried all the salads and every vegetarian dish they have (too few is the only problem) but im sure that will change with many requests- friend had the chicken dish and the shrimp fried rice - everything was delicious - we had a chocolate loaf cake and a chocolate pave for dessert - both excellent as well as the cappucino tasting like real cappucino - the owner was telling us his wife worked at Spice Market, Modern and Cafe Grey as well as studying at the French Culinary Institute.....hmmm - wonder if Park slope is ready for this kind of great food...ha!

    I want to love Moim but the ribs were really not great. My appetizer was delicious and the service was friendly but the ribs---eh, nothing special. And what is with roasted chicken in a Korean joint?? Catering too much to bland 7th Avenue taste buds if you ask me. Cater to people who like food, not people with boring taste buds!

    As a side note, we looked around and EVERY single person in the place (beside my friend and I) were a white guy and a Korean girlfriend/wife. We finally burst out laughing when the 10th couple came in. Is that what Moim means?

    The owners of this restaurant were featured in the Times' Real Estate section! But there isn't much review on the food...

    Thanks for posting - very interesting article - I live across the street from the Parks - nice folks. Kiho gave my wife and me a tour of Moim - but we have yet to eat there. Just waiting for them to get all the kinks out.

    Overall, I like their website, but the white text over the yellow background on the menu page is hard to read.

    Pretty cool site. I agree with raw on the background on the menu. Improvements would be on-line reservation and explanations of some of the dishes.

    If you click on the menu item, it links to a pdf file that is pretty easy on the eyes.

    We ate at Noo Na tonight for the first time because of this post. It was great! We had Bi Bim Bap and a scallion pancake with a side of watercress.

    agreed that Noona is good, but I don't think it even compares to Moim.
