You dont want to talk about gunshots (should we pretend we didnt hear them and they will just go away?), you dont want to stop the "little" get rich DRUG DEALER from selling his shit in the hood (I guess we should also ignore the gunshots associated with their turf wars too), but you want to tell me about the plight of native americans, and that I should leave the hood if I dont spend every waking moment and dollar in the hood. Clarify your message please. You always say you stand for positive change, but fail to indicate that in the substance of your hate filled posts. Where are your solutions?

If I hear gunshots, I call the cops. Why? So that they know, and maybe one day after enough people call them they will give us more coverage and hopefully the gunshots will stop. Why is that important to me? Because hardly any of these gun toting idiots ever hit their intended targets. Instead their bullets go into peoples homes and kill babies. You can go lobby in Washington against the gun manufacturers since you seem to have a distaste for any local efforts to stop the gunshots. Until then, please allow me to continue to use practical measures to improve the odds of my neighbors avoiding being victims of gunshots.

LMFAO as for hearing gunshots and calling the cops, the other day I was in a car on Myrtle right in front of the Walt Whitman houses looking at 3 cops standing right there and heard 4 gunshots. The cops looked at each other and started laughing and didn't move a millimeter and didn't call a soul. Since I was accrosss the street in a car and they were right in front of the buildings they had to have heard them. What part of THEY DON'T CARE UNLESS SOMEONE WHITE GETS SHOT do you not understand?

There seems to be a whole lot of worry about four blacks getting shot in Newark the other day. Not just locally, but nationally too. For what it is worth. Call their precinct and complain. I think that the best way for any of us to understand racism, hate, and anger better is to discuss things civilly. That was absolutely not happening in the threads I locked. It wasn't because of people defending themselves; it was because in those threads people were dealing with each other in a completely hostile manner. There were so many people involved and those threads had spun so far out of control that it was far more efficient to lock them and hope that folks will start over with a clean slate and an awareness of the rules of this site than it would have been to sort out exactly who crossed what line when and then send PM's to each person (oh, except for those who haven't registered -- can't PM them!), and spend who knows how many hours trying to sort the whole mess out.

Let's just try to all be civil in our discussions here, please.

It wasn't because of people defending themselves; it was because in those threads people were dealing with each other in a completely hostile manner. There were so many people involved and those threads had spun so far out of control that it was far more efficient to lock them and hope that folks will start over with a clean slate and an awareness of the rules of this site than it would have been to sort out exactly who crossed what line when and then send PM's to each person (oh, except for those who haven't registered -- can't PM them!), and spend who knows how many hours trying to sort the whole mess out.
