wednesday HAPPY HOUR 8/22 6PM-8PM - meet your neighbors!

If you are new to Brooklyn - or if you've been here for a while and just want to meet more PH folks - meet us for drinks at Soda Bar on Wednesday, August 22 from 6-8pm. Soda is at 629 Vanderbilt Ave between Park Place and Prospect Place. The patio is big and drafts are $3 until 8. Next time we will explore some of the other great bars in the neighborhood.

Is this for people who live in Prospect Heights only, or is it open to folks in the slope too? I've never been to one of these shindigs and was just wondering..

just show up! the other boards (namely PS and CH) that have had meet ups have not had them as successfully as ours, but that's okay. we love everyone here in the PH zone.

and a6, I *believe* the best attended one of these was a joint effort at Flatbush Farm in lovely Park Slope :twisted:

Also, if you show up in a pair of crocs , you have to pay ten dolla' to sit at Brooklynian table. If you refuse , than you will have to maintain a distance of apprx. 50 feet . If you want to speak , we will give you someone at the tables cell phone # , you may call and let that person know and then we will all turn around to look at you.

maybe. I'm still thinking back to some of the big sprawling ones in the soda patio ...

The secret password will be encrypted on various flyers at the Met supermarket across the street. Failure to produce said password will result in fallery through the trap door.

Hi folks, I've been in the neighborhood for almost two years, lurking on this site for months, and finally got registered. I have all my shots now and am posting my first post. Glad to be here, and hope to meet some of you on Wednesday.

If I show up you will recognize me.. I will be the oldest woman there and I will be wearing a pair of crocs... either, red, purple, pink, cwlwey green or turquise.. cause I own them in all colors..

One thing that has worked in the past is to have someone bring a book, tell everyone what the title is, and put it on the table. Then you don't have to go to every table and scope out the people sitting there or ask them if they're, you know, from the Internet.

I would like to come, but am trying to get over a cold, so I'm not sure I can though. I need to recover ASAP.

Good idea. I'll bring the modern middle east: a history. It's blue and the title is written inside a little yellow bubble and there's a picture of what looks like a medieval city on the front. People will think we're a serious study group I would guess we'll be outside if the weather is good. otherwise, inside.
