That's what the guy on the phone at Smith St just said. Damn! Haven't they been saying '2 weeks' for about 8 weeks now? WTF.

That does it. I'm going to vote with my wallet, and refuse to buy anything there until they open.

I overheard a guy working there tell a woman that they're hoping to open Tuesday or Wednesday (I assume next week). Fingers crossed...

starting up a restaurant must be hell on earth. i remember waiting months for amorina and joyce's to open there doors. that little ice cream shop down the way took a while as well. i think if your putting in any kind of industrial oven its an automatic 4 month wait.

I walked past last weekend and peeked into the backyard -- they were setting stuff up and it looks really cute back there. Looked close to being ready, at least out there.

The inside looked like it was coming together too. It's got to be ready soon. It look like they did a lot of work on the inside though, so I can understand why it took a while.
There was a short blurb about the opening in TimeOut NY this week.

The menu is up in the window. Looks like the same items as the other locations, but it's been a while since I've been there.

did you guys see that it was featured in time out's "just opened" section this week? it basically just said it was opening this week. that, at least, gave me hope.... :)

It's open. Totally open, including the back garden. Went last night. Lots of people were there already. (I think I heard the guy behind the bar say that there is no delivery yet, but coming soon, like next week.)

    YES.

This is why I love this message board. I post a complaint a few weeks ago, neighbors continue re-con on my (well, everyone's) behalf, and I get the heads up when it's officially open. Praise Al Gore for inventing the internets.

    Going this weekend.

    went last night!!!!

soooo yummy and very busy! we were all prepped with byob, but they are serving booze at this location, which is actually kind of a bummer to the cheap side of myself.

anyway all of the food was delicious and though they were definately a little frantic, the service was still very pleasant. I'm so happy its here.

I passed by yesterday. It look pretty busy and fun. I've only been here a few months, and Vanderbilt and Washington look so different from when I first came. Good to see there are restaurants and bars popping up within walking distance! Can't wait to check out Zaytoons.

hehe i'm a dummy. on sunday, my best friend from home came to visit, and everytime he comes he wants zaytoons. well, just assumed that our zaytoons wasn't open yet, so what do we do? we hop the b69 straight down vandy to the one thats on myrtle in my old stompin clinton hill grounds... and on the way back in the b69, what do we see? everyone in the new zaytoons munching away. i felt so silly, and mad that i didn't notice the one two blocks away was open before making the trip to clinton hill! i'm happy to hear that the one in our hood is just as good as the one i commuted to on sunday, and my wallet better watch out too... i used to order from them at least 3 times a week before... they seriously put crack in their hummus.

I've been 3 times already and the food is good.
It's good to see Vandy getting better each month.

Definitely a satisfying meal when you need it and not heavy.
I find the chicken a little better than Teddy's because it is marinated in a tasty sauce and the tahini. And I like the way it is char-grilled there also. the pita's they use are a good quality as well and a little better than Teddy's.

5.50 kebab wraps are good, but platters are not worth it for 11.00...just add rice and humus for another 5.50...?

Like the decor also- especially the copper ceiling and lights.

Table service is a little s-l-o-w....gotta work on attentiveness of wait-staff.
Even when the place is empty, folks have to try hard to get wait staff's attention for table service- Just an observation.

When folks come from out of town to visit I will take them there.
