I read these posts but rarely have time to post.

Question-

When did it become cool to have such visceral hate and disdain toward black women? It seems many of the posters here have some personal problems with black women. They love digging in to trash black women unreasonably in comparison to others with the same issues.

Why?

Does this forum give you an outlet to voice your racist bashing? I have an idea for you. Why don't you go to those black women, you speak so negatively of, and tell them what you think instead of cowardly dismantling their reputations online.

bleeds -- is there a particular post or topic you're referring to? there are something like 127,000 posts on these forums, so some specificity might help make this thread an actual conversation, rather than just a shouting match.

if not a specific thread, how about a specific mode of expressing the disdain you refer to? it's hard to respond other than defensively to such a broad accusation.

Bleeds, if you're going to make accusations about stuff like this, it would help VERY much if you could link to one or two of the posts or topics you're talking about. Because I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out what you're referring to.

The only threads I can think of that are specifically about black women recently are the ones about Foxy Brown and the woman who owns the Well Lounge and Muddy Waters. Granted, the general attitude on the board has been pretty derisive towards both of them, but I believe the fact that they're both black women has nothing whatsoever to do with why people dislike them. Nor do I think any such thing has been implied in any of the posts. So if those are the topics you're referring to, please help us understand your objection with some specific quotes or something.

On top of that, readers of these boards often misinterpret commentary. For example, one time I said I did not like Inaka’s sushi and I was accused of bashing the Japanese.

what have you been smoking? i never even read anything negative here about black women. its a none issue.

Bleeds may be referring to the constant bashing (deserve/undeserved) of Marjorie Thompson as well as the owner of Muddy Waters. I believe both women are black. You guys have to admit there is a lot of banter about them.

This is just one counter-example off the top of my head, but there's also been plenty of talk here about the guy who owns Mayday Hardware. He's a white guy. Discussing neighborhood characters who behave like jerks has hardly been limited to black women, and I don't think there have been any posts in ANY of the mentioned threads that in any way implied these folks' jerkiness is related to their race or sex. It's been related to their BEING JERKS.

And what do people have against the Muddy Waters owner? I think she's cool. Plus she has no problem rocking a big afro wig, which I think is awesome and ballsy.

I think we do a pretty good job in kicking the crap out of each other as the handful of consistent players on the board, rather than taking random potshots around the neighborhood.

I'd love to see specific points to posts for this accusation. I'd like to think my rare attacks have been Equal Opportunity -- I insult the lack of smart argument, not skin pigment nor chromosome balance.
