it would seem that there's rumor craig will not be resigning, and will be fighting these charges. even though he settled them. apparently, in his statement he said he "intended" to resign sept 30. intended to be to key word...

By the way, for those of you who care about LGBT rights stuff, the first hearing on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act will be held this morning at 10:30.

Witness list for September 5 ENDA hearing in HELP subcommittee announced

Tomorrow morning, the Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Subcommittee of the U.S. House Education and Labor Committee will hold a hearing on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), H.R. 2015, at 10:30 in 2175 Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill.

The hearing will take place in two sections. The first will feature the testimony of Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.), Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.), and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-Missouri) who will speak in support of the bill. Congresswoman Deb Pryce (R-Ohio) may also testify in favor of the legislation.

In the second half of the hearing, the subcommittee will hear from eight witnesses (the first six listed will speak in favor of ENDA):

Prof. Lee Badgett, UCLA Williams Institute - will discuss the statistics of GLBT discrimination.
Prof. Helen Norton, U of Colorado Law School - will cover all legal aspects of the legislation.
Officer Michael P. Carney, Springfield, MA - will talk about his personal experience with anti-gay discrimination in the workplace.
Brooke Waits, Dallas, TX - will talk about her personal experience facing employment discrimination as a lesbian.
Nancy Kramer, Resource Interactive, Columbus, OH - will talk about complying her small business to non-discrimination policies
Kelly Baker, VP of Diversity, General Mills - will discuss why adhering to a non-discrimination policy is a key to their corporate success.

These two witnesses are likely to oppose ENDA:

Larry Lorber, a partner in the Washington, DC office of the Proskauer Rose law firm - is likely to express concerns with the legislation.
Mark Fahleson of the Remboldt Ludtke LLP law firm in Lincoln, Nebraska.
