Didn't some folks deem this sort of slander racist on a past thread? Can someone refresh my memory, so I can decide if I should be offended or not?

I have a big fat white guy on my block that leaves bottles and food on the street. I could care less what race he is, he's still a drunken ass for doing it.
If I complain about food and junk on the street I'm complaining about that, race is not involved. Don't turn everything into a race war. There's Mc Deez trash all over the corner by my place. I can care less what race is frequenting there, it's all just trashy people. That's not going to change.
Even in my gentrified-ass location we get food on the streets. The other day I saw a Oko yogurt on the street. Shameful yuppies!

Crown Chicken's space has been claimed for a new venue in order to address this problem.

    Thank you. :rabbit:

Timeline of events as per Whynot:

    1. To the horror of some, and delight of others, Crown Fried Chicken closed a few years ago.

    2. For several years, Crown Fried Chicken remained vacant with the gates down. The nasty C-Town on Washington Ave changed owners and became the genuinely much better NSA Supermarket.

    3. About six months ago, someone started some sort of work on the site, and surrounded it with requisite plywood. (yes!)

    4. Today, Whynot noticed that the site has now removed its construction plywood, and revealed those fancy glass windows/wall things that are able to flip out in the summer.

....making me believe will are close to something opening in the space. Making me believe that whoever is going to run this place is aware of its potential as a result of being on a corner, and has invested some $ in renovating the place. (so excited!)

Yes, I asked the construction people several months ago, and they said "bagels" as well.

...but flip out windows make me wonder if it is going to be something fancier.

These locations sometimes change over time.

If it is bagels, we may get good bagels before Vanderbilt. (The place on Vanderbilt is taking forever to open ...and the Washington Bagel Cafe is only ok)

now we have a not-yet-open bagel shop on washington and another on vanderbilt. would love to have good bagels nearby but i'll believe it when i see it.

You know, I'm probably shooting myself in the foot for saying this, but both Blue Apron and Prospect Perk have Bagel Hole bagels if you don't want to schlep down to 12th Street.

true, and penny house, on washington between park and prospect, has terrace bagels. but i still look at them as work-arounds until we get a real bagel bakery, and still schlep to bergen or terrace for fresh ones.

    ^^^ correct.

A good, full-size, bagel place will also offer bagel-whiches.

The Avenue could us a good Boars Head type sandwich place.

The sub place at Bergen at Washington is good, but surely we can support a bagel based place.

    Skazzy Cafe

Not sure how I feel about that name, but I can ignore it if the food is good.
