Having the same contractor could help expain the error @eastbloc noticed above: The permits for 747 were placed on the fence of 745.

Both sites were handled by the real estate firm CPEX, which is a big enough firm to develop (not just sell) properties, and have preferred contractors.

    $10 - $16 wine demographic.
I recently took my parents to Pacifico's and my dad misread the beer prices on the menu. He thought they were $17, made a fuss about how he was NOT going to order a beer, then we figured out his mistake and all had a good laugh. But I guess the future of Franklin's not that far off.

I think late summer is very ambitious.

Excavators deployed to adjacent 745 Franklin are there apparently digging a new, longer foundation for 745.

Expect 747 to get the FAR-maximizing treatment that has been common in the neighborhood over the last several years.

If the owners are coordinating the work (or are one and the same person) it would make sense that ground wouldn't be broken on 745 until 747 is done.

Nice. I'm very curious to see the rendering.

This place is really going nuts today. They're tearing up the streets presumably to put in utility lines, and I hear just enormous amounts of work-like sounds coming from inside. Maybe this will be a thing soon?

I am seeing lots of activity as well.

However, I have yet to see a request for kitchen inspection and the alc lic is still in pending.

I'm thinking Thanksgiving 2015, at the earliest.

The plywood is down from the storefront as of this week, and the windows are papered.  I caught a glance inside earlier this week and things still looked pretty rough, but it seems they are proceeding apace. I'm guessing whynot's prediction of a Thanksgiving opening may not be too far off.

Thanksgiving and Christmas have come and gone.

A New Years event is scheduled at their other location:  http://store.bkwinery.com/products/bourbon-street-in-brooklyn-the-brass-bash

    No liquor lic yet...

I'm declaring today the beginning of Spring, which is good news.

However, this place still does not have a lic, which is bad news.

Yea, it feels like they have stalled recently.

They already have most of the finish work done inside. This should not be much longer.

These job ads sounds like they are related:

    http://brooklyn.poachedjobs.com/jobs/sous-chef-crown-heights/

    http://brooklyn.poachedjobs.com/jobs/seeking-floor-manager-for-soon-to-open-crown-heights-restaurant/

"Candidates should have experience in a restaurant serving elevated food and a strong understanding of wine and craft cocktails."

I can't think of anything else about to open on Franklin with food and wine that is fancy to the degree that they would hire this level of a manager and sous chef.

In addition to seeking staff for the restaurant, they are also looking for tenants for the apartments above the restaurant.

So, they may just be waiting for the final blessing from the SLA.

This place is likely to be the fanciest restaurant on Franklin, a title which is presently held by Mayfield.

Agreed if we are cutting off the category at Fulton. I would say Willow is slightly fancier.

Are they calling it "Brooklyn Made Wines"? That's what's painted on the window, I believe.  Or that's just the subtitle.  Either way, I want to add ?! to the end.

    Brooklyn made wines?!

I'll happily try a Brooklyn-made wine, but in my opinion Brooklyn clearly falls within the beer belt of America. For example, there are certainly some good craft beers in Italy, but that's not why I would go to Tuscany.

Their online store seems to sell NY state made wine, which it then brands Brooklyn Winery

BTW, above we wondered how some place could a "Brooklyn Winery".     Now we know:   "on-site new micro-winery"

"The Winery team also plan to have a full bar and cocktails in the future, but cannot currently serve booze due to a pending full liquor license application with the State Liquor Authority, records show. The SLA did, however, grant the restaurant a beer and wine license, allowing them to serve their own vintages."

I heard it took 2 1/2 years from initial lease signing until now.  They had to completely create basement space where it didn't exist before for a kitchen.
