@tsarina reports that there was a soft opening tonight, March 2nd.

shot of the interior from King Tai owners.    Looks nice! ...much different from when it was garage

Note the absence of beer taps. They are not trying to compete with Nostrand Pub. They seek a different crowd.

Room for all! Merely having a few more places to congregate will increase business for everyone.

This summer, I plan to order a few Mai Tais.

If they are sufficently strong, I will imagine that I am on some beach on a tropical island and think of the passing B65 buses as whales in the distance.

Note:  A friend of mine stopped by Wednesday night, and informs me that the bars has six beers on tap.   I can't see the taps, so I guess they are out of view.

i went here on saturday night and boy is it beautiful. i'm sure they spared no expense on the decor because it's downright exquisite. what a fantastic deco vibe. i only stayed for 1 drink because i had a birthday party to go to, but my pina colada was awesome and they have a few decent beers on tap.

i didn't want to be the nerd taking photos of the excellent art deco light fixtures but alas i was.

My parents and I stopped in for a drink on Sunday afternoon and it felt like a mini-vacation. We all agreed that the pina colada and daiquiri were very tasty (not too sweet, well balanced, $9 each) and the bartender was friendly and welcoming.  I'm not sure what their happy hour prices are like, but if they are good, I will probably be a regular here!

Ms Whynot and I had a Piña Colada and a Palo Chuto tonight.

The place was busy on a Monday, at 8 PM.

Love the circular booth and Bergen Motel drink. Can they serve drinks on sidewalk in warmer weather?
