New pizza at 758 Nostrand Ave?

I heard that a new pizza business has taken over the old Mike's Pizza storefront at 758 Nostrand Ave. They have brought pizza to Nostrand Pub for people to taste, and people say that it is GOOD. Nothing fancy, just good slices and Grandma pies. Can't wait until they open for real...

I'm gonna miss Mike's. Yeah it was average at best pizza but it was damn cheap. I'm glad a normal pizza place is taking it's spot and I hope it's not too pricey.

Not bad pizza on Nostrand would be appreciated.  So far our best bet, or the one we regret the least, is to order from Antonios and meet them on Bedford ave. 

@lorent be happy you're not having to eat Middle America pizza only.  It's bready and has weird ratios of sauce and cheese.  If it's proper crust here you should get some chewy goodness.  And soon you'll miss that when you're away.  

It appears Mike's Pizza will become Franco's Pizza.

The new pizza place at the old Mike's is open! I ordered a pepperoni pie from them last night and damn, was it good. Owned by the team behind Willismsburg Pizza. They are starting with their simpler pies and then bringing the big guns -- such as pies with tallegio cheese. The large pepperoni was $19 and big!

Tried calling the phone number on their Facebook on Sunday but it went straight to voicemail... maybe they haven't set that up yet? I also walked by yesterday to see if they were open and they were not, but that is most likely because of Memorial Day.

Its okay pizza, but not traditional NYC slices. The kids were greatly disappointed. Guess we'll continue to get their pizza from Tony's or Billy's. The new place works fine for us adults when we want a quick something.

We got takeout last night.  They still seem to be having some issues related to being newly opened (they didn't have a box big enough to fit a large pie, no delivery yet, no credit cards yet, no little containers of parmesan to go, the guy behind the counter wasn't sure what the place was definitely going to be called), but the pie was very good!  We got a grandma pie that was great (it had fresh garlic), and a plain cheese pie which was better than Roscoe's (our usual go-to plain cheese slice place).  The plain cheese seemed like a pretty typical NY slice to me, with good sauce/cheese/crust ratio.  We'll return. 

I am currently focusing on the bacon gorgonzola grandma slices.  verh delish!

I tried it last week, totally forgot to post about it till now, while the pizza was decent the overall experience was lacking. I wanted to order a medium pepperoni but was told they only have large or slices. It took them a while to make it about 15 even though multiple people assured me it was coming. I wouldn't even think twice about the wait but a boom box was blaring out a somewhat explicit rap song about hoes and balls. The pizza it's self cost $20 and my god was it spicy. I love spicy food but pepperoni pizza shouldn't be this spicy. The crust, topping and cheese was good.  However, the sauce was just very overpowering. For $20 I'd expect better. 

I've had some good slices in the last week from here. Just solid Brooklyn pizza. I'd assume that they are still getting their ducks in a row, and that it will tighten up over the next few months.

Ouch. $20 for a pie? I know this is "cheap" by some pizzeria standards, but I try to avoid those places as well. Judging by the picture of the pepperoni, though, things look pretty good there. And I'm actually intrigued by spicy pepperoni pizza! 

Lorent, you should try Zaaz Pizza (Classon and Sterling). It's not classic NYC pizza, it's original pizza with weird options (potatoes, bacon, ricotta, etc) but it's really good.
(and reminds me pizza we can have in France)

I got a large plain pie that was $16. It was great; very solid Brooklyn-style pie.

Looks like this place folded. It's been keeping weird hours lately and today I walked by and the shutters were up at four in the afternoon but the lights were off and no one seemed to be inside. 

This place had probably the best pie in Crown Heights but was weirdly run. They only seemed to have large pizza or whatever random slices. They never got menus even though I was assured they were coming, deliver involved calling some random cellphone and they never got on seamless. Not a good way to run a business at all. 

I predict by 2018 there will be a bar-restaurant serving fancy pizza on Nostrand

I wish I could see something cool like lottery numbers. Nonetheless, Mikes (Not Mikes?) folded and it appears for good this time.

So sad. I noticed they were closed. I loved their pizza.

It was the least charming pizza place ever. But the pizza was great. And one of the two guys who worked there was a charmer (the other dude was mean). 

Rough math seems to indicate they survived for around 7 months.

I wonder what will come in its place?
