BTW, I would like to attend a community council meeting or something to talk about the problem of teenage pregnancy - one these hoodied black youths was apparently the father of the others. He kept calling them son! He couldn't have been more than six when he fathered these other boys. Shameful.

I've never really gotten the Crazy Lane thing. I walk down that block fairly often, mostly at night, and though it tends to be a bit livelier than other blocks nearby, I have never witnessed anything "crazy" (let alone remotely terrifying).

I just saw two italian men move into a brownstone on St. Mark's Ave. Considering that it was just Columbus Day (brings back scary memories to some of my ancestors), would 311 or 911 be more appropriate?

So whats the warning? I didn't know I was a threat. You do realize that not all of us are criminals right? (you probably don't). Maybe I should be scared of those drunk White guys walking down my block of Park Place at 3 am, just letting everyone know. And BTW, "son" is a term of endearment among black youth. It is used in the same fashion that some of you would use "dude". You really need to make some Black friends. Or at least try.

I'll tell you who I'm afraid of - all those Watchtower misssionaries, walking down my block on Saturday and Sunday mornings with big smiles on their faces, ringing our doorbells at 10:30 am. They were out in force on St. John's this weekend. I had to cross the street to make sure I didn't get a paper cut from one of their leaflets. They terrify me.

I didnt find a thing funny about that. Whats so childish about it? Is it impossible to believe that I'm tired of White folks making stereotypical jokes involving Blacks. I have heard, read and seen enough in my life. I dont care what you say or do inside your circle. Depends on the season?? What does that mean? My family is from the same parts of Northern Europe--and unless you're using self-tanner, I don't think your sunburnt red skin is fooling anyone. I accept and embrace (at least when not looking all red and splotchy) my glow-in-the-darkness.
