I forgot soda and didn't mean to. Sorry. Will post a new poll tomorrow. But, also, let's make things interesting and forget about it. Forget about Delirium, forget about the wireless backyard and base your vote on your beating heart!

I added Soda as a poll option.

None of the above - I think that they all have significant flaws. Don't get me wrong, there are some good places mentioned, but none that I feel compelled to go to on a regular basis.

Try this scenario: If it is cold as hell outside and you need a drink because you are frustrated with the posts on this board, where would you go for a drink if you had to pick from the list?

Quite honestly, I used to be a barkeep for years, and I have more than enough makings for a drink at home and I tend to think that I make drinks better than most bartenders in the area... BUT, if I had to go out, I think that Indigo would be the place... although I've never been to Ripple, and I'd like to give it a whirl sometime soon - I recently met one of the owners, and he seems like a nice enough guy.

    Subject: O'Connors?

Hey, O'Connors didn't make the cut. Too far over Flatbush fer ya?

BTW, long time bar owner Pat O'Connor passed away this weekend. He will be missed by those who knew him well.

Off the subject, but are you from Rhode Island? It's the Avatar that threw me off.

Indigo Blue is supposedly open again.

I am so totally from Rhode Island. But it's a long commute there just to get a drink. Although in college I was once known to drive two hours for a dozen Allie's donuts.

    Kudos to Indigo.

Tied between Soda and Freddy's? With like 10 votes. Yawn. We need a sleepy/bored emoticon.

To an earlier posting: O'Connor's is a great bar, but that is technically park slope. All of the bears on the list are on this side of flatbush. That sucks about Pat. My first, first beer in NYC was at O'Connors in 93', when Pat would still bartend at night. He was such a nice guy! Who is going to take over that place?

Pat's son used to work there during the days when I lived in PS. Haven't been back since I moved to PH - shame on me - but I would imagine he will keep it going. Especially since they have that snazzy new awning! RIP Pat, and thanks for the free corned beef sandwiches on Paddy's Day!

There's a scene in Flags of Our Fathers where soldiers clear out a Jap pillbox with a flamethrower. I thought it would be fun to do that with Soda.

yes pat o'connor was truly an amazing guy.

Wow, I've never hated a bar so much that I fantasized about murdering its occupants!

    You are HARD-FUCKING-CORE!!

Anyway, the update is that Freddy's is ahead by a hair! Where will this go? Will Freddy's win? Will Sepia pull in front?

I'm scared of cats that dress like they came out of a Beck video, so I only drink at places where there is a cover to get in.

And I'm bored with dudes who look like they stepped out of an R. Kelly video, so I only drink where there's no cover.

I haven't been to all those places, but I'd have to choose Sepia, just barely over Ripple Bar. The atmosphere in Sepia takes the cake, but the music is a just a tad more dope in Ripple.

whats great is that, none of them have copied each other and are doing their own thing... This poll makes me think that nobody drinks on this blog?!?!

No wonder I get the feeling that people are so serious in here.

    VOTE dammit!

Ok, not to be mean here, but Sepia over Freddy's, a true Brooklyn institution that has been a bar since Daily News writers worked on Pacific? Wow!
