honestly, I'm not trying to be tongue-in-cheek - if there's some spontanous erasure computer-error/rogue mod, I'd love to know it. I'm pretty sure DH would, too.

I would, too -- I don't think Quijibo would make this kind of thing up.

The fact that this happened when you were talking about Ambien makes me wonder whether we have any sort of automated spambot software that might have deleted stuff about sleep meds. DH, do we? Quijibo, has it happened in other threads?

the humor is lost when you try and explain it
it went on for a good number of posts. perhaps 8-9 or so

I sure don't. I leave DH to explain backup schedules, etc.

To clarify, I'm not saying my posts were deleted, but I do remember Q's Ambien/Mambien post(s)

I'm guessing this was some sort of database burp or other technical weirdness, or the mods would know about it already. But we're looking into it and if you can think of any other examples let us know.

One note - it may appear that posts are being deleted in some threads because we "split off" posts that are interesting so they get their own topic. Would it be helpful if we add a post to the thread saying "by the way, all the posts on topic X got split out to their own topic here?"

and yes. it would be useful when splitting a thread
to include a link to the new thread
