they have three different size draft beers to order - imperial pint to 10 oz "pot"
    I love that . . .

I'm a strong MAYBE. Might be obliged to leave town Thursday.

I can recommend the lamb sandwich, lamb chops, fish and chips, meat pie, or moule frites.
There's a shiraz/viognier red that is pretty good.
    :D

Isn't Maudite one of those triple-fermented Canadian beers that's like 8 or 9% alcohol?

What happens if I arrive alone to greet the less than ten bloggers who show up. The room is quiet and the small group includes my evil landlord, my angry boss, my X-lover (accompanied by my replacement), the weirdo phramacist that can tell you all about my medical conditions, and my upstairs neighbor, who wants to kill me? Do people's asses ever getted kicked at these events? Do online dramas blow up in person? What should a timid newcomer expect?

If that happens, I suggest starting to drink A LOT and then writing to tell us anything you remember the next day.

This may only be my opinion, but i get the feeling that alot of people in the slope dont really have a desire to meet the people behind the screenames. This is also my experience on other local msg boards.

I wonder why the Heights folks are more enthusiatic - maybe a younger audience? Or maybe a more devout following?

I'm enthusiastic, nervous, and afraid of running into the weirdo phramacist and my upstairs neighbor, who wants to kill me. Gadzooks! The three of us could be swapping thoughts on this forum right now.

If they are younger -- and I'm not sure if that is the case -- they might have more free time, more interest in meeting new people, and less to lose if they get drunk and act silly in public. As your age increases, work and family commitments might increasingly consume your "free" time.

Been around longer. Core of people that already knew each other. The first one went off well enough to make others think that they had missed out, so they made a point of coming to subsequent outings.

Oh, and they're younger and prettier, even after a night of hard drinkin'... :P

Well, I was at a bar on Sunday with my running group and the newcomer decided it would be ok to to hit another member of the group over the head with her pint glass several times. Granted she was provoked...somewhat. The point is Raw, I think we should all fear the timid newcomer. :P
