I love the fact that some of the baggers in the Met on Vandy are kids, it teaches a work ethic, and it's otherwise damn near impossible for kids to make a buck anywhere these days. I'll never miss that dollar, but it means alot to them.

When I was about 10, I used to be one of those grocery-bagging kids at the Waldbaum's on Nostrand Ave between Aves. I and J. I used to bag the groceries and then carry them out to people's cars. I used to be able to hustle as much as 10 or 15 bucks in an afternoon (this was when the minimum wage was $3.35/hr).
Now I can't help but wish those kids the best. Old dudes doing the same thing? Not so much.

Exactly, most of the baggers at Met are 30+. If it's a kid who is doing the bagging in a mannerly way then yes I have no problem with a tip.
