Roommate Wanted

I'm looking for a roommate to move in sometime between 11/1-11/15 (probably 11/1, but still finalizing...). A little about me: I'm a 29 year old female who teaches in Brooklyn Heights. I'm responsible and fairly quiet. I love to cook, read, watch movies, play video games, and hang out with friends. I don't smoke or drink, but I don't mind if you do. I'd prefer a roommate who does not take drugs, though.

The apartment is a third floor, 2 1/2 BR, 1 bath floor-through on Vanderbilt Ave. between Bergen and St. Marks. Very close to shopping, laundry, bars, restaurants, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, and Park Slope. Short walk to the 2/3 or Q. It's a great neighborhood and a great building. Our upstairs and downstairs neighbors are friendly and really considerate.

The bedroom is 17' x 10' and is at the back of the building, so it gets excellent morning sunlight. The room has two doors, one that leads into the living room and one that is right next to the full kitchen and bathroom. You have one closet all to yourself in the living room and plenty of room in the coat closet in the hallway. There's also storage space above the coat closet. The room has a phone jack and cable hookup. There's wireless 'net access in the apartment.

The living room is long, but narrow. I have a TV that I'd like to keep in there, but otherwise my current roommate will be taking most of the furniture with him when he leaves, so if you have living room furniture, that's not a problem. If you don't, I plan to buy some.

I also have two friendly cats--both declawed.

I'm looking for a roommate who is friendly and responsible and who will do his/her part to keep the apartment clean. I'm totally open to you inviting friends over and would love to occasionally go out for drinks or dinner.

Your rent would be $800/month plus half of the gas and electric. You don't need to worry about the security deposit!

What type of drugs are you talking about Meggle? prescription drugs? Or Marijuana or even harder stuff?
