Book Bake Sale to benefit rescued kitties at Infinite
Greetings and salutations! Infinite Hope will be participating in this year's Atlantic Antics on Sunday, September 30th from 10am - 6pm. (for more info on the fair, see: http://www.atlanticave.org/antic2004press.htm
Infinite Hope is an all-volunteer rescue group affiliated with Hope Veterinary Clinic, located in Brooklyn's Boerum Hill neighborhood .
Our volunteers rescue stray and abandoned cats, and work to find loving, permanent homes for them. While in our care, all of our rescued animals receive high-quality food, shelter, positive interaction with our volunteers, and all necessary medical care.
At this year's Atlantic Antics we plan to hold an amazing book & bake sale in hopes of raising some money - the proceeds of which will go directly to the cats and our costs in caring for them.
Do you make mouth-watering muffins? The best chocolate chip cookies ever? Have your grandma’s recipe for the world’s best brownies? We could use your help!
Hate baking? That's okay - you can bring something store-bought and we won't tell a soul! Hey – if’ you’re really busy, you can even skip the baked goods and just give us a donation – we’ll take that too!
We hope to have enough donated baked items to keep us selling all day. If you'd like to contribute something, you can drop it off at Hope Vet (390 Atlantic Avenue, near Bond St.) at one of two times:
Saturday, September 29th between 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Sunday, September 30th between 9:00am-10:00am
If you'd like to donate something, please private message me with:
· Your name and phone number
· The item you plan to bring (this really helps us make sure we don’t end up with all chocolate cupcakes!)
When you drop off your donated baked goods, we would also appreciate an included note if your item contains any unobvious or outstanding ingredients (such as coconut, nuts, candied fruits, etc.)
I will be bringing decorated “kitty cat" carrot cake cupcakes myself. (Try saying THAT 10 times fast.) If you’re looking for other ideas of things to make, here is a list to spark your interest:
· Quick Breads like banana, pumpkin or zucchini breads are great - quick, easy to make and transport – and they FREEZE well, so you can get a head start if you have too much to do the weekend of 9/30!
· Brownies· Cookies
· Muffins - a wonderful alternative to the sweeter items
· Scones - again, nice alternative
· Cakes - we would prefer cupcakes as they are easier to manage and sell...most cake recipes transfer very nicely to cupcake pans.
. 7-layer bars
. Rice Krispie Treats - quick, easy, and inexpensive to make
. Gingerbread
. Dog Biscuits - hey - why not? They are easy to make, and there will be lots of dogs around – why leave them out?
I am happy to provide recipes to anyone who wants one.
***** We will also be selling BOOKS and CDs, all of which are in excellent shape. If you have any that you’ve been meaning to unload, we will gladly accept your donation provided they are in good shape. (We are limiting this part of the sale to CDs and books ONLY and cannot accept any other household items.)
As always, everyone at Infinite Hope truly appreciates your help and support - these cats could not be rescued, treated, fed, sheltered, cared for, and adopted out without the generous help over the years of people like you. Please come on out and visit us on the 30th – it’s sure to be a fun-filled day!
Thanks!
