Meet Cleoptra, a gorgeous, affectionate, wonderful 3-year old girl who is looking for a forever home.

Cleo came to Infinite Hope as a rescue last Spring, pregnant, and sweet as can be. Her 3 kittens were born in April and have all been adopted.

Although Cleo is the picture of health, she tested positive for FIV, a condition that can affect a cat's immune system and requires that she not be with other cats, as she could be more susceptible to catching other infections. (FIV is NOT transmittable to humans, but it is transmittable to other cats.)

Her kittens, oddly enough, tested negative for FIV, and were able to find homes quickly. Despite Cleo's beauty, sweetness, and loveable personality, she has been unable to find a home because most people are scared off by FIV. Truthfully, it is very manageable, and really doesn't require any extra care other than being sure she gets high quality food, providing a nutritional supplement, and being a little more vigilant with regard to health...for instance, whereas with your own cat you might wait a few days to bring them to the vet if they start sneezing, with an FIV cat you would want to examine/treat possible illnesses a little more aggressively, and should take her in right away to nip it in the bud.

Cleo was lucky enough to go into a foster home a couple of months ago where there is another FIV+ cat. Her foster parents ADORE her and wish they could keep her, but unfortunately she just doesn't get along with their cat at all. They are reluctant to part with her, but after more than 2 months of introductions, Cleo just seems to want to be a single girl. She LOVES people, playing, attention, pillows, toys, laps - she is sweet and wonderful and quirky and cute as a button, and she needs to find a new home where she can really be the queen!

Cleo is healthy, (and has been ever since coming to Infinite Hope!) she is spayed, and she is up-to-date on all of her shots. If you want to learn more about her or meet her, please respond and we will be happy to set something up. I am happy to speak to anyone in more detail about FIV as well. Thanks!
