German Language Studies Club. The Tutonic tutorial for
this month is: Translate lyrics to a song. Later on that evening we
will combine forces to take over the French knitting circle.

    Birds and Butterflies

    Ann Clarke is an artist who knits one-of-a-kind wearable art (primarily coats, jackets, and hats) using wool yarns that are knitted, felted, artfully assembled, hand-stiched and then embellished with needlepoint details. She will speak about her work at the March 2008 meeting of the Textile Study Group of New York (TSGNY). You can view Ms. Clarke's work at http://www.twosticksknitting.com.

    Ah, the knitting. After March, we have to 2 more month of knitting here in Prospect Heights before Knit PH takes a break from our regular cold season meet-ups, so get in while you can. We start up again in the fall.

    A Reminder for Stricken Nacht
    There was some confusion about Knit PH and the brand new German Language Studies Club. You are NOT expected to do both.

    The Tutonic tutorial for this month is: Translate lyrics to a song. There will be a delicious cake baked fresh by Ms. Swiss. For all things German contact [email protected].

    We have room for more knitters. Walk-ins are welcomed, just bring your stuff. The large tables are perfect for blankets and sorting our your stash. If you know are not going to get to that sweater before summer wind your skeins up for storage.

  • Subject: Help! Knitters Wanted!

    Help! Knitters Wanted!

    Knit PH member Tomo Tanaka urgently needs some crafty help on an art project (working title "The Knitted Room"). She is looking to hire a few hand knitters with solid basic skills (knit and purl), and someone with good sewing skills to stitch pieces together.

    Project Descrption:
    - Large stockinette pieces (approx. 4' X 3')
    - "Wool Ease Thick and Quick" yarn on #15 needles
    - Final size 11 feet by 11 feet floor (1 piece)
    - 3 feet by 11 feet wall covering (3 pieces)
    - about 12 feet by 3 feet table cloth (1 piece)

    Yarn and needles wil be supplied.

    Pay: $15 per hour (fast knitter preffered).

    Deadline is March 30th.
