I might have missed this suggestion... but what about Brooklyn Health... or medical listings? Where we can list/ review local doctors.

I am searching for a great podiatrist (sp?) and I am having problems finding one...

I agree with you on this one. Since the search feature really (cough, cough) sucks having it in one place would be helpful.

in the interest of not creating another almost-dead board, could this perhaps be combined with the fitness board? brooklyn bodies?

i agree that it makes sense to have docs separate from neighborhoods, since many people are willing to travel for a great doctor.

i think thats a great idea... maybe Brooklyn Health and Fitness...

and people can start threads based on there favorite general and family doctor/ dentist/specalists etc...

I agree with "Health" being added to the fitness board. The doc/dentist/etc question comes up so often, it would be nice to know where to look for answers.
