Midwood resident, and world renowned photojournalist Dith Pran passed away this weekend. The movie The Killing Fields was based on his story.

Dith Pran, a photojournalist for The New York Times whose struggle to survive the murderous regime of Khmer Rouge-era Cambodia was depicted in a 1984 movie, died on Sunday.
