  • I told you, his name's Douche.
  • yeah yeah, I know - douche. but still. can't wait to report to delissa.
  • c'mon, tell us what happened.
  • Subject: well?

    well

come now, don't keep us hanging

was it general or specific douchebagery?
  • short version:

    1. just annoying - you know that half-drunk vibe you get from ppl? normally not a problem, since a lot of folks are annoying.

    2. was sitting in a chair at one end of the bar (inside the bar area) chatting with his friends. put his feet up on the lower, working bar area next to the sink and ice. um. gross. this isn't your living room, asshat.

    3. was a total dick when we (whatchuwant, carnivore and me) were asking about a song he was playing. also was a total dick when we asked if he had the more popular version of said song. rather than saying "nope, sorry." his response was "why, it's crap" or something like that.

    4. he charged carnivore two different prices for the same drink. he fixed the issue later but still. obnoxious.

so, any one thing was tolerable, but in a less than 1 hour stint at a bar, I kinda don't need the bartender to be an asshole on lots of levels and make me wonder about the integrity of the ice.
  • item #1: like a disembodied wet willie

    item #2: defiant ass-hattery

item #3: a form of hipster dysphoric douchebagery

item #4: drunk on the job
  • This is nice? I cite your own rules of play.

Lucille, I'm not sure what you're referring to here. Do you mean Alafairnadia's comments about this barkeeper in general? If that's the case, I'd like to refer to the site rules:
Be nice. If you can't be nice, go to a different website. "Nice" does not mean kittens and rainbows. More like, "general level of civil decorum." It's OK to argue and disagree, and in fact we encourage it, but don't stoop to personal attacks, name calling, shouting wild generalizations like "YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF GENTRIFYING YUPPIES", or other childish behavior.
"Nice" does not mean you can't complain about anything. It means you shouldn't personally attack other users or call them names.
