Ripple closed?

Subject: no ice permit (or something like that)
i was there the night it happened -- april 5th i think -- the inspection guy was there working on his little laptop like he does up and down the street, and john and syran (sp?) the owners were all nervous.
then john says the place is closed -- now -- and we all have to leave. a coupla fiesty drunk gals interrogated them about what happened. something about an ice permit, and big money fines.
since then, nothing. but it's not as if the place was doing all that well, occasional successes aside. i liked it for the quiet and the mixed crowd and the interesting non hipster characters but it was often near-empty.
are there any other ripple-like places nearby? i promise not to ruin them or tell all my friends about them. i just want a place for a drink and some escape from the house. -
an ice permit?
good grief. is there anything you don't need a permit for in this town?
i hope ripple will be back. i liked that place, though i must admit i don't go to any bar very often. -

Sounds like they neglected to pay the requisite bribe to the inspector. Sepia isn't exactly Ripple-like, but it's just a block away, has a mixed crowd and generally has a laid-back vibe on weekdays.

I concur -- Sepia comes closest to replicating the loungy vibe of Ripple. I actually like Sepia more but truly hope Ripple comes back to life. I didn't go there much, and it was often dead, but it's a real neighborhood joint, and one of the only spots I know of that satisfies the underground hip-hop heads.

Ripple Closed? Good. The beer was warm and the place was always empty. Sepia is better.

Maybe a New Hair Salon will move in. We need another one. Or a Party store to replace the one that closed across the street.

Subject: part store --> "ladies shop"
the guys cleaning out the party shop said that it was going to be a ladies shop, whatever that is. -

It depends on whether he meant a lady's shop, a ladies' shop or a ladies shop. -
does anyone know how to get in touch with Ripple's owners? Or the landlord?
thanks. -

I don't - the few that posted here have stopped. however some folks here are good friends with the owners. if one of them PM's you, please let us know (you can just say that you got a PM). otherwise, I'll ask around when I run into folks on the street.
thanks.
