Let the cops find the source of noise and eliminate it for you.

Actually walked by this party last night on the way home from Franklin Park. It seemed to be in the backyard of 436 Sterling. It was crazy! Who has a fucking sound system and DJ for a house party. So inconsiderate. Hope the cops were finally able to shut that party down and that you guys got some sleep.

welcome to the summer in crown heights. Your in the wrong neighborhood if you want it quiet.

Now, Now Joseph11. Let's stop right there, this isn't a neighborhood specific complaint per se. Every human needs sleep and these message boards are were people get to voice their thoughts/complaints and have online-friends commiserate with them. Let's not devolve into a "US vs Them, if you don't like it leave gentrifiers!"
Anyways, hope you guys got some sleep. Lord knows I'm in PS and I still get kept up with loud parties. -
True that everyone needs sleep but on holiday weekends, loud parties are a regular occurence in the summer. Memorial Day is not saying anything. Just wait to Labor Day Weekend. That is really going to be something if you are adverse to loud parties.

Everything I learned in catholic shool appears to be wrong, all of a sudden. -

But there's still such a thing as having a party within reason. Just because it happens doesn't mean it should. -

Why do I NEVER get invited to the good parties?
I have gone so far as to ditch my wingtips and even went back to brushing my teeth.
Why?

Lose the messenger bag and the skinny jeans and you may get an invite before the summer is over :jocolor:

I'm not usually of the suck it up and bear it mode when it comes to crazy obnoxious stuff that bothers others - but I make a grudging exception for loud ass house parties - even those with the rented speakers and sound systems.
I get a couple on my block during the summer and although they start early go to all hours ( i will call cops after 2am though if speakers are still blaring outside...) for the most part I let it slide, because its just a couple and it doesn't happen every weekend and it's only during the summer.
Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day are noisy. An occasional birthday. For those occasions I suck it up.
Now if the same house does this shit every week or every other week - then they're getting the cops called on them. -

I was (thankfully) out of town and missed this.
To be clear though, the party seemed to be comning from the back of 436 Sterling but is was not a party at 436 Sterling. I'm the prez of the board at 436 and I can verify this was not a shindig on our property... -

True, parties should be within reason but sometimes you have to deal with it. When I first moved to Crown Heights and experienced my first Labor Day weekend it was an eye and ear opener. Nowadays I know what to expect and I deal with it in my own way, if I am not participating in the festivities.
The big 3 in the summer are Memorial Day, July 4th and the big one - Labor Day, and with that I mean allllllllllllllllll weekend long. -

Hi folks,
In support of Sterling2000, I can confirm the party was not at 436 Sterling. I got up on the roof and saw the party n the backyard of a St. John's building. -
I can confirm that the party was in the back'yard' of the building on St. Johns Place, north side of the street, nearest building to Washington Ave. Sound was annoying as fuck, but at least it was a holiday. I still have to put up with a certain restaurant on Washington's thumping bass from the subwoofer they keep in the back attic of the restaurant every damn day from 8am to 12pm.

this building often has the loudest parties and then they throw trash in our building's yard - either over the fence or directly from their windows! classy.
Howdy, Stranger!
