Subject: Goddamned Bedbugs & Resources to Fight Them

My wife & I live on the opposite side of the block from the building in question & we just had our place exterminated due to bedbugs. I guess they really like our block.

Here are some websites devoted to the bedbug problem. Dealing with it is much more involved than you might think. It's a royal pain in the ass.

Thanks in part to this message board as well as a lifelong phobia of bugs, i am now obsessed with and paranoid about the existence, or lack thereof, of bed bugs in my apartment.

i don't THINK we have any, but i'm at 359 st. johns, just steps away from the subject of this string's topic, and its like i'm sitting around waiting for the infestation to occur, like an inevitable biblical plague.

my question is - to any residents of 359 on here - do you know if we've had bb's in the building? more specifically, do any of you know anything about the entire apartments' worth of furniture that was in our trash this morning? i'm hoping its just a major renovaton and not the dreaded plague. any info you have is helpful........

Call a professional and do a pre-emptive treatment.

Trust someone that has had them, it will be worth it.

lo kee, thanks for the advice. question - for a pre-emptive strike, i assume this is something that would be an out of pocket expense for me? do landlords cover such preventative treatments? i'm assuming the former, not the latter..........so if so, how much would such a treatment run me?

and is it ok to do non green friendly treatments? i'm all for saving the earth but at the same time i want these f*ckers to not even THINK about entering my apartment....

I lived there until a few months ago and never heard of anyone having bedbugs in the building in the 3.5 years I was around.
