  • Helloe All,
Spent the last two days in a Surgical Center & a Doctors office-Cataract Surgery. On a 50 year old, not to bad on one who will be 77 in a few weeks, not to good!
Got nostolgic & wrote the following. NOT meant to be a downer, just family history:

    AND THEN THERE WAS ONE
Harold & Esther , two sweethearts were wed
Though times were tough they forged ahead
First there was Dorothy , the girl of their dreams
Then Came Bob, the first son who beams
Not far behind was Dave , though Ernest was his name
Then last was Warren , enough said Harold , this is no game
Esther & Harold both died young, in their 50’s, so sad,
Their Children lived on with memories , some good, some bad
They each raised their families, 16 children in all
Now the grim reaper started to make one generation small
Esther & Harold’s Children one by one, are joining them on high
First Bob, then Dorothy, now Dave have said goodbye
And what does that leave from the sweethearts who wed
Now that their brood finds so many are dead
The generation however is not yet done
If you counted right, now there is one
    Guess who????

Judy (Giordano) Banjany wrote: Good Morning Everyone,

How is everyone today? Well I have some good news for a change....they got a 10 out of 10 match for my brother in law for his bone marrow transplant!!! So far he is doing pretty good, he had a week of extensive chemo, but so far he feels pretty good, he will stay in the hospital for about three more weeks, to get his platelets and blood regulated and then maybe in Novemeber he comes home for a few weeks and then hopefully he will be ok to have the bone marrow transplant. Yesterday I spoke to him and he sounded very good and wanted to let me know that he shaved his own head, he wanted to go bald when HE WANTED!!!!!

Well have a great day...peek back later
Prayers still going on here for Jonathan. i know he will be ok
Thank you for your card I got it yesterday, thank you for thinking about us while u are going through your own stuff. love Terry and Mike

  • Morning All -

HAPPY FRIDAY :D Why are the weeks so long and weekends so short??

Terry - sorry for your loss. October's a hard month for you - things will be better soon.

Warren, love your poems. You certainly have gift.

Enjoy the day everyone - going to try to leave early today!
  • GOOD MORNING GUYS.....
SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN HERE IN A FEW DAYS.....
BUT, I HAVE BEEN READING....SO I AM UP TO DATE.

WELL, I HAVE BEEN GOING THRU CHANGES MYSELF.
HAVING 6 DEGENERATING DISC AND SPINAL STENOSIS, I CAN'T WALK WITHOUT PAIN (THE STENOSIS), AND I CAN'T
BEND OR LIFT (THE BAD DISC'S)......
GOING TO GET AN EPIDURAL SOMETIME NEXT WEEK....
IT SHOULD RELIEVE SOME OF THE PAIN.
ALSO, BEEN TAKING MEDS THAT HAVE BEEN KNOCKING ME OUT.

BUT, WORST OF ALL...... I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY DRUMS FOR AWHILE
.....THAT IS THE ONLY THING THAT REALLY HURTS......
    .....THERE PILLS FOR PAIN...... BUT
THERE IS NO PILLS WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR PASSION, PURPOSE, AND JOY.
...I HOPE ITS ONLY A TEMPORARY SETBACK.
  • TERRY AND FAMILY, SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
JUDY, KEEP US UPDATED CONCERNING YOUR BIL, HOPE ALL GOES WELL.
WARREN, ENJOYED YOUR POEM, PASS IT DOWN TO YOUR GRANDKIDS!!!
JOEY, SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR PAIN, MAYBE THE SHOT WILL GIVE YOU RELIEF.
DEBBIE, LOVED YOUR WEDDING PHOTO, YOU TWO WERE SOOO YOUNG!!! IS YOUR HUBBY FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD TOO?
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A NICE RELAXING WEEKEND!
  • Kevin & Debs - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Terry- So sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you.

Judy- so happy to hear the wonderful news for your B.I.L.

Joe- sorry to hear about your back. I have spinal stenosis and bad disks too. I hope you get some relief from the injection. I did for about a month. Try to hold off on the surgery as long as you can. I have been going without surgery since 1991. You will go through good periods and some tough ones. You'll be able to play those drums through the good periods so don't let your talent go unused and deprive the masses of hearing you play. Just hang in there.

    Anthony - what's up dude?

  • Hi,
Thank you for the responses to my poem and the concern regarding my operation. The Cataract surgery was on my left eye and it went well. Can not believe the difference in colors etc:. At my age all surgery holds more risk and recuperation is slower and uncomfortable. Strongly suggest any surgery recommended by your Doctor be performed at the youngest age possible. My right eye will have the same surgery on December 1st. I will still need glasses but a much reduced perscription. The glasses will no longer look like the bottom of 7UP bottles. My Brothers Memorial Service will be next Saturday (Oct 30) and I will give the eulogy.
    Regards to all..Warren :pl:

P.S Terry I am afraid that I have no memory of your Father in Law.
