I am new to the neighborhood and I have a cat with a serious medical condition. Can anyone recommend a great vet in the area? We live at Park Pl & Underhill.

Thank you!

  • We take our dog to Hope Vet on Atlantic. They are very good.
  • We, I mean my dog, goes the Vet on atlantic as well, they are nice. I think its kind of across from City lighting?

    Hope Andy is feline-ing better!
  • thank you so much! I found their web site: http://hopevet.com. Looks like a great place.

    Andy thanks you too!
  • I go to the Brooklyn Veteranian Center on Vanderbilt and Greene. They are really nice there and my brother in law works there. Sometimes I drop off my little fur faces and he brings them home. We live on Underhill and Dean.

    Good luck

  • Avoid the 5th Avenue Cat Clinic, they aren't very friendly and my cats came back with fleas.
  • I love Dr. Silverman's office, the Prospect Park Animal CLinic on Prospect Park West at around 5th street. He's been taking care of my dogs and cat for 7 years, with no complaints, other than once his receptionist called my male dog "she", right after he got neutered. I'm sure he didn't appreciate it, either. :(
  • When I had cats, I took them to Animal Kind in Park Slope on 7th ave between 10th & 11th st's. They are really great, very caring and empathetic, and treated them like family members.
  • Subject: hope vet

we take lola (our dog) to Hope Vet. They are great! really super nice too.
  • We take our dogs to Hope and love them. Just make sure you see Dr. Bierbrier or Dr. Young. I have not heard great thing about the newer vet.

for what its worth, we took our cat here and they did a stellar job on removing a benign growth from her face via laser. it was affordable (they actually tossed in the laser work for free, as they did it after earlier telling us it would be done surgically). i also found them to be really caring and concerned- we got at least three calls from them re: aftercare, checking her status, etc. a good place.

though thats just my isolated experience...
  • thanks to everyone! I'm going to call all of these places and compare. Andy has kidney disease, so we have to give him fluids every other day. It requires a lot of maintenance, and we really need a dependable vet.

    Thank you all so much.
