Rave: Nice elderly lady from across the street just called. It was a U-Haul truck and she saw it happen and went out to confront him. Told him to leave a note. He refused. She got the plate number. But wait, it gets better. Asshole was in the process of moving INTO MY BUILDING! WTF?

Rant: On my way out Thursday night I fell coming down the stoop and totally ate the pavement hard. I knew it was a hard fall, but I'm feeling worse each day. My whole right side hurts, I think I am pinching something in my neck and both of my feet hurt. I also totally ruined a pair of shoes that I only wore once.

I'm going to try to take a bath with Epsom salts later. Already taking ibuprofin, but it's not doing the trick.

I'm tempted to go get a massage tomorrow, but I don't know if that will make it worse.

Flexi, call you doctor. Have him prescribe some "flexeril 5mg" it relaxes your muscles so you can heal without tweaking a nerve etc... I used it when I fell long ago and also when I have back problems. Good stuff, you feel really relaxed.

Yep, you're right again Mama. Just called the 76th precinct and they said that if he was really belligerent to your witnesses, you really shouldn't confront him, that I should just go in and file a report.

STUDY OBJECTIVE: We evaluate the analgesic and side effects of adding cyclobenzaprine to ibuprofen in emergency department patients with acute myofascial strain. METHODS: A randomized, prospective, double-blind study was conducted at an urban teaching ED with an annual census of 44,000. One hundred two patients aged 18 to 70 years with acute myofascial strain caused by minor trauma within the prior 48 hours were included, and 77 patients completed the protocol. Each patient received a single dose of 800 mg of ibuprofen in the ED and a vial of 6 capsules containing 800 mg of ibuprofen to take every 8 hours as needed after discharge from the ED. In addition, 51 patients received a single dose of 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine and a vial of 6 capsules containing 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine to take every 8 hours as needed after discharge from the ED; the remaining 51 patients received an identically labeled placebo capsule and vial of placebo capsules to take every 8 hours as needed after discharge from the ED. Patients rated the intensity of their pain on a 100-mm visual analog scale (VAS) at baseline; 30, 60, 90, 120, and 180 minutes; and 24 and 48 hours after treatment. Telephone follow-up was obtained at 24 and 48 hours, and side effects were elicited at 24 and 48 hours by means of open-ended questioning. RESULTS: The patients in each group were similar with regard to diagnosis and baseline pain score. The number of patients who did not complete the protocol and the number of those who required additional analgesia were similar in both groups. Over the 48 hours of the protocol, the mean VAS score for the combination group decreased from 60.4 to 35.6, and the mean VAS score for the ibuprofen alone group decreased from 62.2 to 35.4. The mean VAS scores between groups across time was not statistically significant (P =.962, repeated-measures analysis of variance). At both 24 and 48 hours, central nervous system side effects were reported more frequently in the patients receiving cyclobenzaprine (16 [42%] versus 7 [18%] at 24 hours and 15 [39%] versus 5 [13%] at 48 hours, respectively). CONCLUSION: In ED patients with acute myofascial strain, the addition of cyclobenzaprine to ibuprofen does not improve analgesia but is associated with a greater prevalence of central nervous system side effects.

I tells yea, when my back goes out Flexeril is a godsend, let's me sleep, stops any spasms.. I love it. Pain killers are not enough sometimes, but of course your doctor knows best.

Rave: Just reamed out new downstairs neighbor in a BIG BIG way for not letting me know about accident.

Rave: Called my landlord to find out his name to give to police only to find out he is one of the nephews of landlord (who I have a huge great relationship with and lives across the street).

Rave: Got a call from his mother within five minutes to work things out. Still, my car is fucked up and the guy is an asshole for not reporting it. And also a kind of a weirdo.

He was/is really just a weird guy, but yeah, that's pretty much how it happened. Knock knock, Hi, I'm Voodoo who owns the car you fucked up, he completely admitted it, but said he had no idea what happened and gave me a post-it with a number to call (his mommy). I yelled at him and said welcome to the fucking neighborhood asshole, called grandma (landlord) and got a call from mommy in 5 minutes who said they had insurance on uhaul. Also yelled at Mommy to tell Daddy that he should have left a note.

Rant: I'm exhausted after all that.
