contractor sought

I am seeking an honest, personable, reasonably priced contractor who is skilled enough at woodworking to revise the frame of some French doors and to install new doors.

I have had a bad experience with a contractor and so I'm seeking someone with checkable references.

If this gig goes without a serious hitch, I will have several much more lucrative projects in the future.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

  • i have found the quality of sean deneen's work exceptional, though he is pricier than most. i trust him, however, after seeing the job he did on my brother's apartment. he's also creative and has good ideas. if i needed someone and could a little more than i have to play with, i'd choose him without question.

i had the ambiance guy (39 7th ave, forget his first name) come to my apartment for an estimate and found his estimates exceptionally high. he also didn't seem to want to do the project, because it was small. i imagine a lot of contractors feel this way about smaller projects.

He repaired damage to my bathroom following a massive leak and then renovated my kitchen. Did an awesome job - worked with me on the price (i.e. let me know that there were some things I could do myself and save money), came up with good helpful suggestions and is a really nice, reliable guy. He even offered to come wait in my apartment to have appliances delivered on a day when he wasn't scheduled to work. He's just awesome.
