Lifelong Learning at Brooklyn College — Brooklynian

Lifelong Learning at Brooklyn College

Retirement offers exciting new opportunities. Retirees of any age, including newly retired and semi-retired adults are invited to join the Institute for Retirees in Pursuit of Education (IRPE) at Brooklyn College. If you enjoy exploring ideas and developing skills in the company of like-minded people, IRPE is for you. We have our own classes, which are taught by retired professors and expert volunteers. There are no prerequisites and no exams. Go to as many courses as you wish in art, literature, music, philosophy, history, current events, health, law and more. Take workshops in painting, drama, singing, foreign languages, computers, memoir writing or poetry. Practice tai chi or yoga. Attend special lectures, film showings and musical performances. Play bridge. Use the college library and computer labs. All for only $75 a year in membership dues.

The Spring 2009 semester is starting on February 2. All courses are held from 9 to 3:30 Monday through Friday on the college campus. For further information, call 718-951-5647 or go to http://irpe.brooklyn.cuny.edu.
