Prospect Heights House Tour seeks volunteers
The Prospect Heights House Tour has been a neighborhood tradition for more than two decades. This celebration of our community also promotes an appreciation for the historic architecture of the neighborhood that will ensure the preservation of Prospect Heights long after we‘re gone. Money raised by the House Tour goes directly to grassroots, under-funded community projects. It provides assistance to community gardens, after-school programs, street beautification efforts and the recent campaign to designate Prospect Heights a historic (or “landmarked”) district.
The Prospect Heights Association needs the help of many hands to make 2009's tour a success. If you’d like to share your pride in your home with others in a way that will help your community, consider showing your home on the House Tour! If you’re interested in the neighborhood’s historic character, and would like to meet other neighbors who feel like you do, volunteer as an event coordinator or house sitter. There are great volunteer opportunities if you’re a photographer, designer, architect or writer, too.
Come to the Prospect Heights House Tour 2009 Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, April 23, 2009, 7:30 PM at 149 St. Marks Avenue between Carlton and Vanderbilt Avenues. Meet some new friends, enjoy some refreshments, and help make this year’s House Tour the best yet!
