I was wondering the same thing! I took the pooch for a walk and the guys are up there again. I noticed them the other night and thought they must just be doing a one-time night repair or something. I cannot believe they're up there again!

shall we call 311? it's not okay that we are losing our beauty sleep.

All work in schools has to be done when the kids aren't there. So that means evenings, weekends, holidays, summer.
The contractor has to get an after-hours work permit to work in the evenings, which usually allows them to work from 5 - 10 PM, doing clean-up afterwards. This rule is often broken, as you have noticed.
Is there a sidewalk shed up around the school? If so, you may be in for a long project.
You can try 311, if there are enough complaints the DOB may come and fine them. Usually, it's worth the price of the fine for them to keep working. -
Makes sense. But is that an actual school? I've never seen any kids in it.

There's been construction going on at night at PS 9 since September. I called 311 and you go to the Board Of Education construction complaint line and nothing happens. I understand that they can't be there when kids are, but they started right after Summer and go really late and it's really loud.

Yeah, we're not talking about PS 9 on Underhill at Bergen, we're talking about the BOE bldg on the corner of Park. No kids - just BOE peeps. No reason the work can't be done at normal hours. I guess they really just want to piss of me & ProspectPlaceGirl.

I didn't think you were just saying this is typical Board of education construction, it may even be the company doing the work.
Howdy, Stranger!
