Subject: HELP NEEDED for this Sunday's Summer Streets on Vanderbilt

This past Sunday marked the first Summer Streets on Vanderbilt event. The street was closed to automobile traffic from noon to 5pm for pedestrians to enjoy the vibrant street scene in the sun. This coming weekend we'll have more great music and activities, but we can't do it without the help of the Prospect Heights community.

WE URGENTLY NEED HELP FOR THE UPCOMING EVENT THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 14.

Here's what we need help with on June 14th (as well as on Sunday June 21 and 28):

11 am-12 pm: Set-up (light furniture, benches, badminton court, etc.- all light-weight)
12- 5 pm: Help out at the kids craft table; manage stage; maintain street (1 hour or whatever time you have)
5- 6 pm Break down

If you can lend a hand, contact the organizers at [email protected] or 718-398-7380. Or show up the morning of the event to help set up. THANK YOU.

Summer Streets on Vanderbilt hopes to promote a new type of open space where community members can walk, play, bike, relax, socialize, and come together. The event also aims to highlight the many cultural resources and local businesses in the Prospect Heights area. This temporary pedestrian plaza hopes to build on a movement that promotes walkable, livable, and sustainable streets and neighborhoods in New York City. Summer Streets on Vanderbilt is sponsored by the Vanderbilt Avenue Merchants District and the Prospect Heights Neighborhood Development Council in conjunction with NYCDOT.

When: Sunday, June 14th, 21st, and 28th, Noon – 5pm
Where: Vanderbilt Avenue from Dean St. to Park Pl., Prospect Heights, Brooklyn
