why does this prompt come up every time now? i don't want to install more crap on my pc. is this me or is this the board aksing me? :twisted:

Are you seeing this happen specifically while actively browsing this site?

Dunno from your description if it's for Flash or Adobe Reader or what product it relates to, but if it happens specifically while browsing Brooklynian then it may just be some Flash ad that's published in a version of Flash later than the version you have installed, prompting you to upgrade. This would be the advertising network's fault, not related to Brooklynian other than giving the ad network the wall space in which to throw up their ad inventory.

Or are you seeing it happen regardless of what you're doing (or not doing, in the case of scheduled update prompts that come up even while your computer's been idle for long periods)?

In that case it may just be an Adobe updates process on your computer that periodically checks the mothership to see if there's a new version of the software (Flash, Reader, etc.) available for update.

Any of the above ring a bell? Which product is it prompting you to update?
