Yep - that would be fine by me. Just don't want to set off in the rain.
  • Accuweather

I am in. And I'll ride in the rain or take a subway, no problem.
  • I'm in so long as it isn't actually raining at 8

I agree with Mougar. I'll get wet later, but won't get wet right away.
  • If it's as humid as the weather reports say, it might actually be beneficial to get wet later.

hey Beavis, you have no excuse not to show up ...you now have a bike.
  • If we're lucky we get the rain/storm right now and it'll make the night cooler.
  • Prepping my head ;-)
  • So we're on! As long as it isn't raining at 8pm.

We seem to have the following definite riders:
    Nomad
    Duffy’s Sis
    Carnivore
    Whynot_31
    Christina
    MeredithB
    Mougar

    Possibly:
    Hexatron
    Capt. Planet
    Stewart

    Joining us in Coney Island:
    Stacey

No worries if you want to join in and haven't posted - just turn up - under the arch, Grand Army Plaza @ 8pm.

    See you soon!
  • We are picking MeredithB up at Park Circle at 8.15pm so you can join us there as well, though you'll have to find us somehow.

    BigGuy may be joining later.

A non-Brooklynian friend of mine will join us at Avenue C as well.
  • Excellent! The more the merrier!
  • I am about to roll ;-)
  • Wonderwheel. All of us or none of us.
  • Great trip. Must be repeated next year, maybe an hour earlier so we can actually go to Tatiana's or whatnot, and Shoot the Freak.
  • indeed.

...Shoot the freak definately is a must do for next trip.
  • Thanks to carnivore for the last-minute invitation and helmet, whynot for the bike loaner, and the Magnificent Seven posse for not making me feel too lame for getting back on a bike for the first time in more than a decade.
  • Ultimately this means though that you now have no more excuses for the midnight rides! You and Carni can go bike-shopping together ;-)
  • It was great!

We don't necessarily have to wait a year!

  • That was fun despite the rain. So glad dennisobell could join us! I can't wait for meredithb to post the awesome pics we took of this guy:

  • I just got my bike tuned up - it was definitely necessary (no more brake pads, loose chain, wobbly wheel) and I have to say the guys from R&A (infamous bike store with attitude on 5th) really hooked me up. I only paid for the new brake pads but nothing else although my warranty has long been up. NICE.
  • I was just at r&a this morning and did alright. I had to wait longer than I would have liked but they were nice enough and had the parts I wanted for less than an obscene amount.
  • This was Mougar on the Wonder Wheel:

  • Oooh....whose the legs?
  • yea, I'm ok with him being the person with legs, or the guy in the black t-shirt
    ...but am curious.

Carnie, I've never met Mougar ...which one is he?

P.S. MOOGAR, on the other hand is a good guy.
  • I say we bike to Jacob Riis park soon. Daytime weekend. The International Kite Festival has been canceled due to recession, unfortunately.
