orange cat on Sterling

Just encountered a very friendly (but sad looking) orange cat on Sterling between Underhill and Washington (in front of 407 Sterling). Poor little guy was super skinny and was meowing (more like honking because he couldn't quite meow) like crazy.

Anyone missing a cat, or know this guy's story? I've encountered odd cats right around here before, so maybe he's part of a colony....

I have two orange cat rescues of my own one of the honking variety, hope the one you saw finds a good home.

I wish I could take him, but I just can't. I did go grab some food at a bodega and bring it back for him, though. He clearly was starving.

Put him in a carrier or in your bathroom and call AC&C. They will come and pick him up for free. Call before 6:00 PM and they will come the same day (they do not pick up on weekends) 212-788-4000. No, it's not better than being taken in to find a home but it is better than starving on the street. Several rescue groups pull cats from AC&C and everyone loves orange cats so hopefully he will get pulled. Again, better than starving on the streets or being picked up by the wrong person.

I agree. The cat is obviously suffering, leaving him there is worse than bringing him to a shelter.
